Default Update 8/4

OK so I am sitting in Hy Vee fill of chix and potatoes. Does not get more mid western than that! Funny story, too late for breakfast (11:30....slept too well in the caravan) so ordered the special thinking it was Wednesday but got Thursdays which was the dinner for what I can only describe as the 'extended' family. Was too British to stop the lady from filling up the bucket. Leftovers ahoy!

So back on US-20 which is just down the road. Aiming for Hell by 4pm tomorrow. Gonna camp tonight in some town along the way, lots of cute towns to check out Galena, IL, Icecream in Freeport.

See some of you tomorrow!

Sharks in Hell was great, great people, helped to disassemble an engine, chatted with nearly everyone and really got my hands DIRTY. I then headed to the Doerr Farm to see #6, met Jim's family and stayed the night in lovely Reese, MI. Today is a rest day - movie madness I think. Then Detroit for a day for the Ford and Dodge Bros stuff before hitting up Cleveland. If you are close by, PM and we should get together!

Default Heading for Cleveland

Then dropping down towards Lancaster County PA for the weekend before heading up sorta along the route of the Appalachian Trail towards New England. Lots to see and do!

Went to Henry Ford Museum today after getting rained on last night. Got away relatively unscathed - couple of damp books! If you are on this route, drop me a line, i'd love to see you!

OK. So the car has been sitting for a bit and I am pretty ready to get to work on some issues. I'm looking at the New Year before I get started but I have a place to work on it and a want to get to know you Mass 928ers.

Default OK time to assess options and draw up a plan South Shore, Boston

So I need some help with figuring out what I need to do to make this car at least semi respectable ie not leaking through hatch and sunroof and what deferred maintenance is required to make it on the one hand safe and on the other pass MA inspection. During the road trip last summer, I gained knowledge of the state of my front end (poor) and some other deferred stuff relating to rubber pieces (not fuel lines!!) Have a list of things to be getting on with but no tools or expertise!

I'm moving to Hingham MA on the South Shore of Massachusetts on June 15th, the car is there currently.

Any offers of help would be greatly appreciated now that the car is in its new MA home permanently!

Might want to start a new thread requesting help. There are a couple of folks in Quincy and other places not far from Hingham. They might not pay attention to the this thread due to the title.
