Well, this should make some eyes bleed... And for about $2,500, it can all be yours...

Everyone keeps mentioning carbon fiber.

Are these parts actually made of carbon fiber?

As in extremely light and strong custom parts?

Or, are you talking about wrapping existing parts in a carbon fiber "look" material?

I've never been a fan of fake looking parts.

1st guy: "Hey man, is that a custom carbon fiber center console?! Wow, so cool!"

2nd guy: "Uh, no, its a wrap over the stock parts...it looks so totally bithcin"

1st guy: "Uh...ok..."

Carbon fiber equals the new chrome. If I wrap my fat *** in cf, will it look lighter?

I guess some of you seem to think that we are going to have an endless supply of new interior pieces for these vehicles? 15 years from now it's going to be fun watching the bidding war for that perfect piece of textured black plastic trim so you can maintain that 1970's OEM appearance.

When we have to restore and remake interior parts for the car I do not think wrapping them in "carbon fiber look" decals is the way to go, personally. I think real carbon fiber looks fine on an Ariel Atom or my Ducati but the fake stuff is just... fake. Even a real CF veneer just for looks is IMO questionable. Then again there were no shortage of fake cell phone and TV antennas on cars, and you can even buy a fake moonroof decal so it is clear that it takes all kinds.

Would you cover interior parts in gold leaf and tell people it's solid gold? (Maybe if you had a 1937 Rolls or a 90's Lexus...)

I've seen quite a few vehicles with gold plate crap.
IT DOES NOT LOOK GOOD. tacky cheezy and ugly.
I always wondered what goes on in the minds of these people.

looks like Ali Babba has molested it.
Very Boroque or the Arabic look.

Obviously from several of the "contributions" in this thread, taste is of little importance.

So folks that do not like fake CF in a 928 have no taste, my god man, what does that say about the folks that like fake CF stuff?

You don't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed so let me spell it out for you. It is beyond tasteless to use racial slurs to describe a particular modification. It also seems rather rude to tell others that something won't, or can't, possibly look good and therefore shouldn't be done to THEIR vehicles because YOU don't like it. It also seems rather dumb to contribute, and I use that term rather loosely, to a thread that is of no interest to you and in which you have absolutely zero product knowledge. Start a poll if you want 20 pages of people giving their opinions - yours are neither wanted nor needed here. This thread was originated to inform members of a new product that some may find useful. Your presence, and comments, only detract from the discussion at hand. If you would try to be slightly open minded, you might realize that there are currently over 500 colors/finishes available in the 3M Architectural film series that can be applied to the interior/exterior of our vehicles to enhance the appearance of our aging vehicles - you needn't limit yourself to carbon fiber since it so deeply offends you.
