Thank you for the compliment Chris, but buying GTS's and customizing them does get a little pricey. If I were to do it again, and like Barry has wisely suggested, I would probably start out with an S4, add some GTS hips, etc, etc. T

I find it interesting the generalities that are thrown about with these cars. My only experience with with a GTS happens to be one of the other 13 Amazon green cars with tan interior and 5 speed. So I am lucky to have a relatively rare car.

I have all records from day one and the engine is factory stock. In the 15k miles i have owned it I have never had an oil issue. I have to add oil to my 911's and cayenne far more often than the GTS. I know of several other 93's in my area that also do not have an oil consumption issues and have never had engine work so go figure.

As far as wives and colors I can relate. Although my wife and i are huge fans of black interiors, cannot deal with gray at all and are not big on tan. Ironically I ended up with 2 amazon green cars both with tan interiors. The car had to be a unique exterior color metallic 5 speed so when you boil it down there are only so many and a good portion have gray interiors so it doesn't leave you many options.

Amazon is a great color there are a few I consider better in metallic and then you have the more common colors. If you want a unique color I can attest it is slim pickings and took us over a year to find ours and we only found it by chance. I don't mind the tan interior because of the black accents but I cannot handle when they have matching dash, wheel etc. I use black mats to keep the interior clean and after 65k miles this car still runs and looks like it came off the showroom floor. Something about the GTS that does it for me that none of the other 928's offer. The experience behind the wheel is all similar but the flairs, wheels and brakes make all the difference to me and would do it all over again if I had to. It is a shame the market is so soft but I don't think that will last forever.

Cobalt my friend the market "ISN'T" really that soft in the GTS market !!! But in the normal 928/ S4 market,I would have to say it is pretty soft from my point of view..The limted numbers produced of the GTS will always carry the values of the nice examples as long as they are in one piece..Plus when you add the little factor known as a "5 speed",you have NO problems !!!

My comment was about cars in general. Even the 3.6 turbo market is not what it used to be and I figure there are less than 300 left in the US. prices are still strong but not where they would have been if the economy didn't tank. Only the really clean low mileage cars are commanding the big dollars and there are so few of those left.

I don't think I could get more than low $30's for my car being in showroom clean condition no paint work and all records at 65k miles, 3-4 years ago i could have gotten quite a bit more but have no interest in selling. Seeing any 5 speed GTS not sell at $25k is something you wouldn't have seen a few years back.

My guess is that the car is not going to sell through this auction.

Autocheck shows it was in a FEMA designated storm area at one time. That doesn't mean it was flood damaged necessarily. But even still, 21K would have been a steal after passing a good PPI. I'm sure the owner is getting after the auction emails for less than the asking price.

I can't believe it's not gone already.

In my mind, that is the perfect color combination.

I just read through the service history and the emissions are almost as clean as my Hybrid!

Everything that can fail has been replaced with new or rebuilt. TB/WP recent enough. The steering rack, PSD & AC have all been attended to.

This car is a winner. Can't believe it wasn't snatched up.

If I was the owner I would have taken it for a detail and had the engine bay steamed (not saying that is a good thing for the car--but it is a good thing for making it look pretty!).
