Sounds like this car was a DD and if that is the case a couple of 1000 miles a month would be expected if you can go more than 700 miles w/o putting a quart of oil in a GTS then you are not driving it hard enough! So, using 2 quarts of oil a month even in a GTS DD would not be to surprising to me.

Jim is right though, if you actually want to FIX that problem...BIG BUCKS and might as well bore and stroke it while you are in there!

I think paint the hood, do the TB/WP and fix the A/C and enjoy for a WHOLE LOT OF MILES! You would be in to it for $30k-ish after shipping (if you do the work yourself on the TB/WP) and man what a car you would have!

Getting it for the starting bid of $21k would be sweet.

Mine burns about 1 quart every 700 or so miles. I don't like it, but they all do I hear.

Wow - you say that's typical? Why do they burn so much? Is it blow-off related?

Your has the Provent, doesn't it, David? Do you have a air/oil seperator or baffle in the filler neck (or just below it)?

I don't see anything that would concern me. Painting a hood is cheap and, at least for me, the other issues are not issues.

I like it! What I would give to have a second GTS, with manual transmission ... who needs that old 401k anyway?

Tom, agreed! 401k? Overrated!
I've heard a lot about GTS oil consumption. Is this a matter of pulling the engine and installing updated rings or are we talking a combination of factors? This question is in the spirit of general GTS talk, not pertaining to the sellers car in particular. Looks like a wonderful machine!

Welcome Forest, good to have you participate in the discussion on your car. Non-Members can't sell stuff here, but that shouldn't be a problem since you didn't start this thread.

If any out of towners want someone from here to take a look at the car, let me know, I may be able to help out. You should have no problem selling this rare car!

Looks like a Great deal. I'd jump if I was looking. I was looking for my 95 when it came up,12 years ago. Humm, An Amazon green and a Crystal emerald metallic in the same garage?
Last time I had multiple 28's I found myself driving the nicest one. Now all my rides are totally different.

Good luck to whom ever gets it.

Steve if your GTS does not burn about 1 quart/ 700 miles then you better check your oil because it is empty! Both of mine do and when I got to the track they burn WAY more than that... Actually (as noted many times before) the oil is not "burning"...I think it just disappears. Others have actually explained what is happening, but I can't remember what the deal is... Still annoying more than anything else. Not a problem as long as you check the oil or at least add oil when the "oil level" warning light comes on!

On the plus side you never ACTUALLY have to change the oil in a GTS because it is new all the time! LOL!

^^^ I have never added oil to mine in 10 years of ownership (I check the oil almost everytime b/f I start it up). Granted, never been on the track with it and I don't beat on it when I do drive it..... I know I'm certainly not the norm when it comes to the amount of miles between oil changes either (once/year usually with less than 1k miles).... flame suit on!

Chuck, you and Steve are lucky... Of course I flog all my cars every time I drive them! I don't think I have ever pulled away from a stop light or a stop sign at anything less than 75% throttle and it is normally more like 100% (unless someone is in front of me...then I am at their mercy)...and of course all of mine have been to the track at least once and EURO 92GTS has MANY, MANY miles at well above 100 mph in fact a whole bunch above 150 mph!!! Talk about needing oil! Do that for a little while and you will need to add oil each time you add gas...and the need for gas is frequent above 100 mph!

My GTS is pretty loud with the x-pipe, no cats, RMB and stock GTS mufflers.... When I do get on it, you can hear it for blocks! Never want to draw that much attention especially from John Law...
