Maybe this is relevant maybe not. Couple months ago I had to replace a valve in a VW TDI and the valve I got from the local parts store had Made in Italy stamped on it, also had some sort of a holgram sticker and the packaging was high end looking. The retainer was a 3 groove design too. If they make VW valves, there is a good chance they might make ones for a Porsche. I'll try to look into what brand they are.

on a side topic. the race american V8 supercars this weekend, had a bad accident. a crash that involved my buddy Randy M . in the monster camaro. I heard it flipped end over end 7 times after turn 11. I can only think it was caused by lapped traffic. anway, he was medavac'ed out of there with some broken bones and that car is built like a tank. maybe its good I had my moms birthday party to go to instead of racing this weekend! . Would have been good to be there to help out his family though. Good people!

just makes me sick. makes my crash and broken rib look like a broken tail light.
Im pretty good friends with Randy, love his family and feel really bad for them. This must have been a tough weekend.
Did you see the crash? did you see what happened.

Was he leading the race? how did Sutak do? i noticed that Vince won in his new black mustang .

Damm I hope Randy heals quickly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After Turn 11.....thats odd, since its a the slowest corner on the track....my guess is traffic as he was accelerating onto the back straight, and all that power made it come around and go off.....

Basically Randy's camaro is similar to Jeff's Trans-Am.....in other words...VERY powerful!!!

Brandon said he saw it from turn 11, so it was probably way down the straight at high speed. randy can handle the power fine! I think he has like 700hp now.

I did not..Im in Idaho Falls thru last week, and headed home today.

My buddies Kraus were there. Sutak? Does his car finish whole races now?

(We towed him what felt like BOTH days, every weekend, for a whole season once...sometimes 2x a day..)

Black Widow is back on track and running well with a used E-bay motor. Currently I have 5 days at the track on this engine. One day with Track masters at T-hill, Two days time trialing with NASA at T-Hill and a full race weekend this past weekend with WCMA at my home track in Calagary where I placed Third in the hour long enduro and Third again in the WCMA Points Race so engine has about 10 hours on track. I ran every session I was eligible for at each event. About 2 hrs on track each day.

I am running a Simard pan spacer and an OB pan/pickup oil pressures seem to be stable with this set up no crank scraper installed. I will be installing an accusump before next race weekend.

I update as I put more hours on this engine hopefully this combo will last as long as Brian's Estate engine.

Have you looked into using Greg Brown's head oil scavenging system? Looks like it would really help oil control on tracked 928s.

I read the thread but it gave me a headache. Accusump on this engine some sort of head drain on next one.

No doubt Greg's setup is a good idea for a high RPM race 928 engine.... So is a full dry sump...

However the cost effective answer is the OB pan + spacer.....good results for minimal cost-effort..... 49 hours and counting!!! 10 on Seans (common death time for stock S4 oiling setups)

Two more hours on track wheel to wheel racing. Third in the points race and actually WON the enduro.
Have the accusump installed and I think it's awesome. Oil pressure never dropped below 75 psi EVER!

Where did you tap it in & are you using the 55-60PSI EPC valve I had?

2.5 more hours on track last night.
First time with R-6 295 front and 335 rear. Grip is unbelivable 1.5gs in most corners. Accusump seems to be doing a good jod of stableizing oil pressure
