You can open it from under the bumper. Long screw driver, straight up and pry the latch.

Sometimes the cable has slipped at the latch wire nut, meaning the 3" travel of the handle isn't enough to trip the release. The handle inside cabin will come off the post that it levers against and you can pull the cable directly rearward, if you haven't tried this already.

It's really easy if your grill has fallen out!

OOPS! That's WHY my grill fell out; I was reaching through to open the hood!.

Not so easy if the grill is in; I don't know about his MY, but if you could do that any yahoo could open your hood in the mall parking lot. Not b/c of the grille but b/c Porsche put a narrow sheet of heavy plastic across the inner cavity on mine to prevent access to the latch from under the snout; at least, I'm thinking that is it's only purpose as I see no other. I am able to worm my size 7 hand in there, but I had some serious pressure welts on my arms when I got it out plus I had to hold a flashlight in my mouth in order to see the latch.

The plastic can just be pushed slightly aside then you have straight shot from underneath with long screwdriver to save your arm. Flashlight still helps though

Did the pry side to side, hood is up. Now, how do I tighten the cable so this doesn't happen again????

You can either adjust inner wire at the latch (it's held by grub screw) but this requires drilling out rivets and removing latch.

Far easier is to adjust the at the clamp right next to ignition amplifier. I'm pretty sure you can take out slack there.

Now that you know the trick, just keep doing it that way.

Sorry, just reminiscing about my PO.

I can open mine with my pinky finger. If yours is not that easy, you need to realign the hood/latch.
