i-(the attempt) one week ago, I call the Craigslist seller X about this 84. He tells me that he will trade his black 84 928 for my 97 Mercedes E420, plus I need to give him 1,200 cash. He tells that I would be getting a great deal. I never see his car, but tell him no thanks.

ii-(overpayer) on Friday, craigslist seller sells the car for 4,400 dollars to an out of state buyer via ebay.

iii- (the fail) the transmission fails 40 miles into the new buyers drive, he posts it on ebay on Saturday.

iv- (the report) I looked at the car on Sunday, it's a parts car / mess, with nice wheels, and I document my findings on the boards so that others can benefit

v- (the shocker) An uber experienced 928 icon buys this parts car for 2 grand.
He sells the wheels for 800 dollars ....I certainly hope the story ends here!

This just taught me a lesson, I'm glad it didn't cost me anything!
