Question Hood & Hatch Shocks, which brand lasts?

I've read that some brands don't last very long, and some are much better.

What brands last?

The only ones I have found so far are Stailus & Tuff Support

Make sure you don't install them upside down like I did or they will only last 4 years or so!!

Can't remember where I got mine.

Don't think it was from Roger then. We'll have to check with him, but I don't think his can be installed "upside down".

The ones in my '89 car were swapped a dozen years ago for the ones that 928 International and 928 Specialists sell. I put a new set of hood shocks in a year ago, but didn't need them replaced so much as it needed a little hinge lubrication. So my take-outs went into James M's '85 Euro where. with a bit of that same hood hinge lubrication, they serve on today. Original ones on James' car didn'y have enough spring left in them to extend themselves when laying on the ground with no load.

That’s quite the endorsement from many members.

Sounds good to me!

Thanks

You need parts, go to Roger! Nice, professional, and always there to help! I am so glad he is there for me. He saved my butt a few times! Can't wait to meet him and all I can say is the wine is on me!
