Holly Hill is right next to Daytona.

Have him make you up a set of 3 piece wheels that fit great, look super and are all about performance and high quality.

No connection, just a happy customer.
^^CCW makes bomb proof wheels. Used them on many race cars. I also like Forgeline wheels.

Yes you can fit 10" wide wheels on the rear of your 928. Is there a particular style of wheel that you are considering?

Did a quick search and found this thread..

I have speedline for Porsche (same as on the 93-94 993 3.6T) 18x8 xET52 on the front and 18x10 x ET61 on the rear. They came on the 90 S4 with GTS rear fenders and JDM plastic fender extenders on the front when I bought it.

The 52 offset on the front makes the car bad, heavy steering (more than usual) and tram lining, I have to fight the wheel sometimes) I tried correct ET65 D90s on and it feels much better, better steering and no bad behaviour. Short of perhaps taking the fronts apart, finding inners and rings to make them ET65, I may sell them to a 993 owner and buy something else in 18"
I tried the ET61 rear wheel on the front and the inner rim touches the sway bar or upper A arm at full lock side to side. ET65 would be further away from those components by 4mm right?
There are spacers in the rear, I think the same as fitted to GTS models.

So my question is can I buy 4 wheels all, 18x10 x ET65 and put 265/35 on the front and 285 or 295/30 on the rear and have no issues with rubbing?

52mm front wheel offset?

Sell them to some dumb schmuck in a 911 unless they are 3 piece and can be reconfigured economically. If you do this make sure they clear the caliper. If your steering was heavy I would put that down to too much toe in.

ET 65 pushes the inner rim further inboard!

The ideal wheel size for the front is a 9.5 inch section with 68mm offset. This will carry a 265 section nicely. I recommend rolling the wheel arch [not with a BB bat] and you will need to fit an additional spacer/stop in each side of the steering rack if you want to avoid contact wth the anti roll bar. Additional camber also helps- ET65 up front with a 265 will be tight relative to the outer fender but you may just get away with it- very marginal I would say.

For the rear you need a 10 inch section with 60mm offset. This fits straight onto the S4 with no spacers when shed with a 285 section and if my memory is correct, will carry a 295 x 30 as well. On a GTS chassis like mine you need a 24mm spacer to make it look/fit right. This wheel with a 285 section can fit a GTS but you see very little daylight between the rim and the rear fender. I suspect a 295 might just foul.

With this type of setup and stock roll control the car will oversteer noticeably- be warned- the front end grip is stonking. Hit the chicken switch in a tight corner and you wil be overtaken by your *** end before you know it.

With wider and thus grippier wheels you will need a different alignment to get the best out of it. I run 2 degrees of camber in the front and 1.5 degrees on the rear. Bigger front wheels will make the steering heavier but you can work this by minimising front toe a tad less than the lower end of the permissible stock range and increase castor to 5 degrees +.

Then you can have fun shoving your front bumperline up the *** of 911 owners in bends or go past them when their brake light comes on!

They are 3 piece, not sure if it is economical though!

The tyres are part worn and evenly so I doubt the alignment is out and being as the steering is better with ET65 wheels I think it is down to the offset causing the heavy steering.

I have the GTS body upgrades including the spacers on the rear, the ET61 10" with 265 tyres fill the fenders nicely as you can see in the pictures.

I know some owners in the UK are running 10" ET65 on the fronts with no issue, I wonder if they had to make any changes then.

A 265 with ET61 on the rear will place the wheel in exactly the same place as the stock GTS wheel so logical to use with GTS spacers under GTS dimension flares.

A 52mm front offset looks good with a 225 section but it eliminates the 13mm NSR that Porsche carefully builtinto their steering geometry. when i ran such a wheel on my late S4 I felt no difference in the steering effort but autocross lap times told a different story on the handling front- they ended up on my friend's 911 C4 and they worked well for him.

With respect to wheel clearances I am sure ther ewill be some variance example to example but as I could tell my S4 and my current GTS chassis have exactly the same geomtry. the rears being different are difficult to compare.

18x11 Turbo twists on 295's here and would not go any smaller. Don't be afraid of the fender rolling. It is really pretty easy if you take the right steps and I did not repaint. Makes the car look a lot nicer IMHO.

I had 19x11 Carrerra classics on in the rear (295/30), tight fit, needed spacers, fender roll. still rubbed inside on big bumps. I went down to the Panamera wheels, much more pleasant ride.

There isn't outer rim sections which would fix this ET problem at front end. All normal pieces all manufacturers use mean ET numbers 928 require can not be achieved. Only solution is to have some custom outer rims or center sections made.

The ideal wheel size for the front is a 9.5 inch section with 68mm offset.
That is far from ideal. Wheel will stick out 11mm more than 8x16 ET60 Club Sport which means outer edge is outside front fender. Ideal ET for 9.5" would be around 79mm. I'm not sure if so deep wheel will fit without rubbing into stock springs etc but from ET point of view that is correct setup. I know factory used 9.5" ET68 but thats because they had them for 964.

the BEST set up for stock or race car, for the biggest tires possible, is 11s rear, 8" backspacing, and up front 9.5 or 10 with 8 or 8.5" backspacing respectively. no major mods other than just lightly rolling the fender front and back will allow for 305s rear and 285s front.

Mark,

With 18x11's in the rear with 8" backspacing, do you still ned to run the factory spacers on a GTS? what about the stud length?

I think I am going to order a set of CCW wheels and will go with 18x9.5 fronts with et68, but am still not sure of the rears given the factory spacers. Would like to go 10.5" or 11" and do not want to replace the rear studs.
