FIFY Does look like some other 928 bits being used (suspension), but hard to tell from the photo (for me anyway).

That's a lot of weight to be carrying 8 inches back square-center of your spine.

Wish I knew how to build things. All I can do is fix 35 year-old stuff. Sometimes.

Yes he might want something more than rubber motor mounts. Pretty clear that he does not own a tubing bender so opted for lots of cuts and welds on rectangular tbing. The shift linkage is going to be a nightmare !!!! And yes it has 928 suspension even rear sway bar not mounted to anything yet. 928 dash pod. Sad thing is it will only have 220 HP.......But creative use of an old 928

I'd think 220 hp would be more than enough in that configuration.

Looks like the driver is going to be vulnerable.

I remember considering doing something similar about 30 years ago; bought a six pack of Bud instead and got over it.

scary! no torque tube. trans just mount directly to the engine, or is there a clutch in there?

I think I would want a few more bars protecting my back from that 500lb lump of aluminum!

There is a 928 motor in a 914 on the forum at Pelican Parts. That conversion was awesome.

I look forward to seeing what this one looks like when it's done.

While a 918 is cool......that truck frame contraption is NOT.....

If you want to see an example of how a "tube" frame 928 should be look here:

Having recently constructed an open wheel racing car, I can only applaud what this fellow has done, Whilst it may be easy to stand back and criticise and point out how it could have been done nicer. This guy has put in an unbelievable amount of effort to achieve what we see today. I suspect after all of that work, a shift linkage is a miniscule concern for a creator of this calibre. I woukld suggest a shifter out of a late model FWD vehicle with 2 cables would suffice.

And how much lighter than a 928 is this creation, No doors, One light seat, No glass, nothing succeeds like lightness.

Cheers Roy

I am with roy, this has much potential and I saw a half of an 3d elipse custom shell that would fit over the top and what a cool looking futuristic vehicle.....
