Default 79 followed me home last night

So I asked mamma if I could keep it. This car (99% sure) used to belong to John Krawczyk (see link from years ago HERE) which he had named "The Blueshark."

It went through two owners who basically let it sit in their garages. The guy I got it from didn't get the manuals, parts, or bra...etc from the guy John sold it to. Anyway, I've always wanted a 79 (my graduation year and the first time I saw one). This one has been gone through at least once (thanks John), starts and runs great, and looks to make an appearance at SITM this year (for at least the fourth time).

Here we go again.

Looks great! No rub strips, H4s and a great color. Very nice.

...and no sunroof. But I do have a leaky hatch. It looks like the gap between the roof and hatch is 3/8 instaed of 5/16 (or metric =) I need to adjust the front fenders too as the gap with the hood is too wide.

I got some cool factory stuff with this one I didn't get with my other three, air pump, tire tool, most of the tool kit, little orange light bulb box, fuses... little stuff, but cool.

That's damn nice, love the color. I so badly want to swap my S4 running gear into an OB.

Interior - I guess I need to save pennies to get Paul to make me some seat covers with leather Pascha inserts!

There is something about the simple lines of the early cars that makes them look more purpose built than the later years. Simple and elegant. You have a very nice looking example there.

You guys are making me sad.

I notice at least on of the guys after me tried to fix the rust spot, but didnt finish the job.

If you take that to SITM, it will be the 6th of 7th time for the car. I think I went in 01 (twice), 02, 03, 04 and I think 05 was the last time. Let me know if you go. I might hop on my Ducati and ride down.

Sweet car. And pretty cool the prior owner found it here too.
