Same thing with 1992 US GTS. Everyone calls PS815061-PS815148 as early '93 MY except that Porsche lists them as 1992 and they use same parts as '92 MY ROW GTS.

For the average buyer, I suspect all of this is moot. If I had the cash and desire for an automatic, I'd be sending an email to the seller. Cars of this quality don't pop up every day...
It looks really good. Only odd thing is that option list do not match pictures. Option list sound more like Canadian model than US car even though only C36 Canada model early '94 MY car is 0079, which is 5sp.

James didn't you need a blue 94 to park beside the white GP

In defense of the 1R rods, and I admit my car was babied before and after I got it, those rods are not necessarily a ticking time bomb. At least not if oil consumption is a guide. I do kick it when I can, but there isn't a lot I can do where I drive it. Mine does not burn oil.

The water bridge is another matter. The first time I saw seepage in a depression in front of valley I nearly had a heart attack. I now understand that crummny bridge seals on not just the GTS is a problem and I'm replacing the seals. Got to love Porsche design (sometimes).

This car has now migrated to a dealer in San Francisco:

Cars Dawydiak
1450 Franklin Street, San Francisco, California 94109 -- 866-455-9650

Wish I had the cash to buy it... but not for $4.9k more than the original asking price.

Mine is the exact same year and colour combo.

Paid $22K a few years ago but it had 120K miles on it at the time. Condition was 8/10, now a 9/10.

Mine is almost exactly the same year and colour combo.

Paid $22K a few years ago but it had 100K miles on it at the time. Condition was 8/10, then 6/10, now a 9/10.

In SF this week so I stopped in at the dealer selling this car to have a look. I must have been invisible b/c nobody even bothered to come and speak with me......

My impressions of the car are that it is a decent car with flaws that match the miles. Interior is in really nice condition except for the mounted phone. There are chips on the front bumper cover, right side mirror and right rear quarter panel (on the leading edge). There is also a ding on the right front fender that I would assume a good dent removal person could easily get out and they obviously touched up the wheels and carelessly got overspray on the calipers....... details.... details.....

I didn't get to see the engine nor did I hear it run.

Next time you're in the Bay Area, let us know! We'd love to have an excuse for a small 928 gathering...

What a bunch of MO-RONS...they couldn't be bothered to spend an extra 15 min to actually TAKE THE WHEELS OFF?! Or at the very least PROPERLY tape stuff off...just sad, or you know for that matter get a PDR guy to actually come out to their place and take that damn dent out of the qtr panel! COME ON GUYS! Talk about half assed...

Seems like relatively minor and inexpensive issues to fix. Thanks for the pictures Chuck.

Might be good negotiation points to take away from their opinion of the car/price if you were seriously interested?
