Tony, I'm not sure if you wanted me to put a cap on this thread, or caps on the wiper studs that are going to be sticking up with the arms removed. As to the first, it appears to me that you have a built in conflict in philosophy. Taking the wiper arms off does not, in my estimation, result in a clean shaven look. Then covering the exposed wiper studs with even a tasteful "cap" will simply amount to replacing one protrusion with another.

I wear a full beard, but closely cropped, and your ideas seems to me akin to me shaving my beard to expose a couple of ugly zits on my face. Even if I cover the zits with mascara (paint to match) they are going to show badly, when the beard, although not smooth and baby/original like, is natural and therefore not really not too noticeable. (Not a bad analogy, huh?)

As to the second idea, I think that if I were to "put a cap on this" by way of designing and fabricating some kind of ABS nipple of sorts to cover the wiper studs, I would have to take another diversion from the wheel well liner project and a couple of others. I suspect that if I were to do that there would be a contract put out on me (if one is not already out, for my diversions to this point, or for other reasons). I am full of projects now and will try not to take on another until I get caught up.

Tony, this one is tongue-in-cheek, but it occurs to me that there is a way for you to delete the wipers and use technology that has been around for a lot longer than the 928. That is to replace the wipers with a hidden system like they use on jet aircraft to simply blow the water away. For this you will need to change the engine, not to a small block chevy, but to one of the turbines like we have all seen a couple of lately. With that you will have the benefit of huge blasts of jet exhaust out the top of the hood, but you will also have the availability of hot high pressure bleed air you can divert to blow the water off the windshield. I that a cool idea or what?

Looks like the Lupo wiper arms that Darklands is using on his 928 just might be the way to go. These threads really bring out some great ideas that you just never think of. Now Jerry, get back to work on those wheel well liners el-pronto ! T

"VAG parts (discount for VR6 members) do a kit for the Mk3 if i remember. Its made up of TT parts and Golf parts i think, they claim its a better fit than the Lupo job. Not sure how it would work on a Corrado but worth bearing in mind as an alternative to the Lupo kit!"

I'll need to stop down by the VW dealer and see what the 2011 wipers look like.

I'm thinking there might be a difference between RHD & LHD wiper arms?

I think the arms must be powder coated.

Sorry, but I have to correct you here. Mascara would not be "paint to match" - it would be more like "trim paint". If you want "paint to match", you'd use foundation.

It's obvious that Jerry is an amateur ... I'm sure your make up tips will be helpful Nicole .. As he has a beard, I don't think mascara or foundation would look any good anyway.
