Yes, he does. Hidden in front of the harness at top left, below:

Yep. I cleaned that one. Already very clean, but sanded and smoothed the body pad, etc.

Brendan, my car had the battery ground strap fail at the solder joint on the body side- it would intermittently not start, or die until I took the strap off and re-soldered with a propane torch. Took a while to find that problem but I notice a few others have the same issue. Can't hurt to try it...

I've seen bad ground straps cause intermittent failures too. They look fine, but won't work. I keep a spare now.

AND you should never disconnect the batt on a running shark. LH/EZK doesn't know whether you did it or a corroded ground strap does it.

So I drove the car to an appointment last night after I put my other 18s on it. Sounds pretty good, could be considered strong for not having every sensor and wire replaced. It was about 40 miles, and no hicups, except:

1) It seems to lug a bit when you put your foot down at mid-range sometimes in gears. Meaning that it FEELS LIKE if you put the clutch out too fast at very low speeds. But the sensation is more subtle.

When I accelerate, I feel like there are steps to the accelerator instead of a smooth rush of power. Maybe even that the WOT switch IS working, but the rest of the range of throttle opening is not linear. I guess that could be the MAF or something else. I will check the ohms on the maf and adjust - that may do it. I know the spark plugs have been replaced but they could be gapped wrong. The 02 sensor could either be unhooked or giving wrong readings.

But it can now be used as transportation. So that's good.

I'm going to update this thread as I believe I have passed this milestone with my "some assembly required" 86.5 928. It starts and runs quite well, baring some low-rpm issues that I will address in a separate thread. Thanks again for everyone's help, and as the assembly of the car progresses I am cleaning any and all contacts or wire connections I can find.
