Just got off the phone with www.captaindantheflounderman.com and Dan's bay boat is available for this Sat. He provides the rod & reels, and also cleans your fish and bags it. After hitting Happy Hour and Capt Benny's Fri night, I would advise going out after breakfast about 10 or 11 am for a 1/2 day on the water. Cost is $ 300 for the 1/2 day with a 4 person limit. Get a small group together and give Dan a shout at: 361-386-3219. T

Never been offshore fishing, is that $300. per person or the group of 4? I'd want to do the 1/2 day also.

It's $ 300 for the Captain & the bay boat, so it would be $ 75 each for 4 people or $ 100 each for 3 people for the 1/2 day. Go to www.captaindantheflounderman.com This area is a lot about bay fishing on smaller 20-22' bay boats that are able to get into the shallows. Redfish, speckled sea trout, sheepshead, black drum, etc are pretty much what you will be catching, and are very good eating. I believe deep sea fishing is substantially more $$ and it leans more toward a full day. Three people is ideal on these smaller bay boats, but Dan said that 4 is doable and 5 gets a little crowded. I would advise to get your Fishing permit at Wal-Mart, etc before coming down so you don't have to hassle with that when you get here. T

'tis The Donald Don, not "the Don" so it's my 90GT with the new string magnetic force coilover. I just need to install the neodymium stones, power balance bands, and get an alignment....

Heads up. Going to get over to The Light House Inn on Fri mid-day and hopefully coning off some spaces for the 928's before you arrive. Pay attention to the posted speed limits while in Rockport. The police would like to send you home with an unwanted souvenier. T

For the DFW crew, looks like we will be meeting at the same spot in Ft. Worth as most trips south. Home Depot parking lot at the Jack n da Box at 8-8:15. Then leaving to meet up with Herman in Waco. From there we will be heading straight down 77.

See ya there.

For those that would like to caravan down to Rockport

The DFW gang gets together at the Home Depot Parking lot on I 35 W and the Jack in the Box in Ft. Worth between 8:00 and 8:15 AM (GPS C0-OD 32 37 59 N and 97 19 21 W).

Coming from SE Dallas via I 20 and I 35E where we propose to join at the Wall Mart parking lot (opportunity to gas up) in Hillsboro, TX around 9:00 AM directions as follows;

Take exit 368B from I35W merge on to the feeder turn right on to the Corsican Hwy =(22 & 171) than take the first left on Coke Ave. to the Wall Mart parking lot (GPS CO-OD 32 00 14 N and 97 05 58 W).

If we leave from there and we have had a chance to top of our fuel tanks we can take I 35 W to Waco and from there via 77 south to Schulenburg & I 10 (distance 172 mi) we than can have some thing to eat at the Barbecue Smokehouse & Catering (GPS CO-OD 29 41 42 N and 96 54 11 W).
716 N US Highway 77, Schulenburg, TX 78956 between 12:30 and 1:30 re-fuel and leave for Rockport (distance 127 mi) via 77 south to 239 and than TX-35 South to Rockport this should put us there around 4:00 - 4:30 PM

Shame for me...ran into some $ flow issues. I'm out. I've cancelled my hotel reservation, so if someone needs a place to crash, it's available. Have fun.

I am coming down from Austin. Haven't heard of any other from here, but I missed the last GTG.
I would be interested in fishing Sat, might even talk Rose into going.
