I saw those Augments not too long ago. They look like a great option and it appears the company is serious about ongoing production of them. No idea on price point.

when you do the math..a pretty good deal for a custom set of rims with that "classic look"
Im on the fence with it right now.

They had some weird holiday sale on the 17s, $2800 delivered, I jumped on that set. Not sure what the regular price is but will assume that they didn't lose money at $2800.

Pricing is on their website. I can’t decide if I want 17” phone dials or 17” manholes (or club sport). They can do anything you want, even working from images.
They had a display at our PCA spring opener. I liked what I saw.

What are the offsets on the 17" set? certainly look good on your car!
I do really like my Stock C2 Cup1s but its just getting impractical to run only these...(car parked for over a week awaiting 2 new tires...) The 18" teledials would be a 'next best' option I think.

Bottom line, I like the look of the 17s better than the 18s. These Augment wheels are 7.5x17 ET 65, 9x17ET 55, identical to stock GTS fitment. I have had 18s on the GTS, and it was too harsh- (I have Clubsport springs and Bilsteins on the car, they may be too harsh, or the 18s (Sumitomo HTR-ZIIIs) had too little sidewall, or I'm just getting old and wimpy, not sure which). Swapping back to the stock Cup 1s with PS2s made a _big_ difference in ride comfort and NVH (it's still too harsh, I'm toying with going back to the Koni/Eibach combo that was on the car when I got it, set to full soft). Of any 928, the GTS can get away with the look of 30 series rubber on 18" wheels, but I still think 17s are the sweet spot for looks.
If I could have designed these 17s, I would have handed them the '86 951 8x16 ET23 rear wheel, and had them bump them up to 9x17. I think that's the best looking of the stock phone dial wheels.

From their site:

All of our wheels utilize premium grade forged 6061-T6 aluminum and all undergo stringent FEA analysis during the design process to ensure structural strength and wheel longevity. Our process, build standards and partners are all selected to meet or exceed TUV standards.

I think that the point of including the Augment Wheels offerings in this thread is that the original Kickstarter campaign can now be fulfilled for those that paid for wheels.
Jim might even be able to get a group discount to keep his costs low enough so that a few dollars remain to compensate him a tiny bit for his incredible efforts to get this going so many years ago.
It would really be nice to see this thread have a happy ending for all involved!

Re compensation, I never expected it but appreciate your sentiment. As the project closed, I did assess the value of my time, but chose not to apply it.
Those who bought wheels have been paid from the remaining balance of the project. Rob Edwards as one of them, has already bought the Augment PD's and appears to be satisfied. I hope the other guys will find similar success!
Project PD was an amazing grass-roots effort and wouldn't have made it as far as it did without support from the Rennlist 928 community! I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Right on, Dave! I do think that the Augment wheel offering is a great append to this project.

Just for clarity: The Augment wheel pictures posted here have nothing to do with the "Project PD" design or the Kickstarter project. They were posted in this thread only as examples of other options for those looking for Phone Dial-style wheels.

Jim, we can each have our own personal measures of progress. "Project PD" had 70 backers pledge $29,380 to help bring the project to life, and four of us contributed $19,400 in return for four wheel sets. Six years later the four of us were given $10,000 back to divide among ourselves, and no wheels. I don't consider that "success", and in my view "Project PD" didn't make it very far at all.

I'd be really super pleased if every "project" I started, which didn't turn out, netted me $35K, for my time....
Hell, I be thrilled if every project that did turn out netted me $35K!

Wow, 2013, a long time ago. I think we all had great hopes for this to happen. Sucks that it ended like this.
BTW..for folks not here back then...the kickstarter page is still up for viewing...
