they look good either way because it is Porsche 928 but the minute you get a ding on the door you may wish that the molding was there.

Along the lines of this subject.........I wish there was a good way to eliminate the rear wiper with an S spoiler without leaving the cut-out for it.

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

And to the side molding fans - I must admit, I've had to use PDR before.

Aaron came over today (with his lovely wife) to meet the collection. They seemed to have fun! Got to compare the styles of exterior and interior and rub strips vs. no rub strips. I think it was educational for them both. He is torn between an S4 (87/88/89 likely) and an E500 and 951... All great cars for sure (and they don't have kids at this point) but I of course lean to the 928's (DUH) for the purpose he is looking for. Class, style (no boy racer 951 look going on), flexibility...etc, etc.

E500 would not be a bad choice. I had one that was upgraded to an E600 and it was a fun sedan. My brother has the only 1995 E500 in the country and loves it, he also has 3 small kids. That being said, the E500 is still a sedan and does not have the sportiness of lets say a nice 928? Another factor Aaron might want to consider is this. There is not much happening in the E500 world socially like their is with the 928 crowd here in Texas. T

We had a great time at James this afternoon. That is one incredible collection and James is quite the gracious host! Yes the people definitely make the 928 proposition that much more attractive

We'll see what happens ;-)

I think this pic shows off the lines the best w/o rub strips.

These pics show why I consider the 928 to still be one of the best looking cars EVER built regardless of price.

Another pic for this thread is Darien Nunn's meteor metallic sitting in the driveway of a previous home.

My son's car had rubs but we removed them when the car was repainted. We are all use to parking WAYYY out to minimize the door ding thing.

I am not a fan of the rub strips, however, I think they are just wrong on any 78-86 or GTS car. The flat sides of the S4/GT (87-91) are more visually accepting of rub strips.
