Have to say my GTS has no rubbing strips, and I prefer that look on the later models, but to me the early model cars (OB?) look better with them

pick the best car you can find regardless of moldings. I like no moldings myself but there are just too few nice cars that I can't overlook a good one that has moldings.

Not!, for sure. If they came off or if I was having it painted they would be gone, no questions asked.

Too bad I didn't buy them with the car, he wanted something like $3600 for them. Oh well.

That's not a bad deal on HRE's.
My fathers car came with HRE's, the receipt is in with the records. With installation the total bill (just for the wheels & tires) was over $5,500

$3600 is probably about half what he paid for them too... I love HRE's but the cost is the very reason I don't own any! They make Fikse look cheap! Your car really is stunning Rob!

Yep.

I'm a rub strip hater, but when I sold my '85 (no rub strips), I bought an S4 that had rub strips. I still hate them but I'm putting up with them for the time being - but not because I think they will ever protect the side of my car - they won't - but because the S4 was the right 928 at the right price for me at the time.

And I always park as far away from the rabble as I can with my 928, rub strips or not.
