This kind of reminds me of similar issue with the Audi 20v community. Mark Swanson had a set of steel crank pulleys made because of failures on the stock unit. Here was his solution:

Its a bit more complicated, as the teeth on that gear are blind in the back. Anyhow, I vote to have a new bespoke part made instead of encouraging the OE manufacturer to start pumping them out again. I would buy a set.

Well I'm doing my bit for global pull on orders

Just bought 4 - two OEM and two Porsche, from local suppliers. I need two over the Xmas break for my newest 87 (doing TBWP, intake, MM's etc. over the break), and figure having a spare pair is sensible until supply is sorted and any aftermarket solution is thoroughly tested.

Just got back from picking up the pair close to home. I got the only ones in stock from both independent places - sent you a PM.

I got Auto Atlanta's last one... after ordering a pair from him on ebay. George Hussey said he had 19 on the shelf and they went in a matter of hours. Now I need to find one more...

He was speaking theoretically. Like Alpha Centauri is only 4 light-years. We've been there, no one walks in Anaheim. So it's only theoretical.

I also hear there are no ugly women there, if it was not for the fact it cost a hundred grand for a place the size of a walk in closet and the gun laws, it sounds like a great place to live.

Well yeah Greg, that and the seasons they have: Earthquake season, Wildfire season followed by Mudslide season. It's a great place to live. This posted by a Texas native who just loves the blast furnace summer.

My mother lives in Cali, and she was in UCLA Med Ctr at one time. I swear every nurse was six foot tall and looked like a goddess. I was guessing that they were all aspiring actresses and nursed in their spare time. It made me want to get sick just so I could stay at the hospital.

Wow... missed this one over the holiday week.

As mentioned earlier, Big Dave and I have both been running re-coated cam gears and oil pump gears for the past 5 and 4 years respectively. Last time I checked mine, they looked perfect. I'll be inspecting again this winter and will take some decent photos to illustrate.

In case people want to know what the coating was... it was PowerKote's DFL-1 (Dry Film Lubricant).
