Default Fully Formed Spare Tire Covers

Rather that bump the old thread about my spare tire covers I thought I would just start another one.

I just formed a few more of these covers in Black and still have about three in White.

These covers will fit any of the 928 cars. In the GTS cars the original insulation can be removed from the original cover, if it is still in good condition, and re-affixed to one of these for a near original conversion.

I have had to raise the price a little because of an increase in the price of ABS Plastic. These are now $70 plus $16.50 S&H.

You can paypal the money to my email:

jfeather@bresnan.net

The total is $86.50 to the U.S. The shipping and handling for most places out of this country is $45. I use Priority Mail and have had good success with these getting to the buyer in just a few days.

The insulation and stickers on the S4 tyre cover can also be removed then glued on this cover, works a treat on my car.

Does anyone know if this will fit over the Pioneer TS-WX50 spare tire subwoofer?

Jadz928, in the other thread, Post #37, mentiond about how one of these fit with his sub woofer. I don't know how to post a link to the thread, but search New Spare Tire Cover and you should be able to find it. Jerry

I've seen that before. It seems he has a bazooka subwoofer. Mine is one that fits inside the spare tire but the top edge sits a little higher, hence I don't know if the cover will fit properly. Mine looks like this:

Can you show a picture of the woofer in the spare tire? I can't tell from this picture how far above the inside (upper) surface of the spare wheel the woofer might be. There is one half inch of depth (upward)to my spare tire covers, and they are made of 3/16 inch thick ABS Plastic. Jerry

I am going to have a new thread next week about my new Plastic Cowl cover for all the 928s. In the meantime I have made a few of these spare tire covers so I can take them to Spring Fling with me and with the Rear Wheel Well liner project for some final ( I hope) fitting in the GTS.

These spare tire covers are now available at $75. The cost of the plastic has gone up quite a bit. S&H is still the same as stated above.

Jerry, how about a thread with pictures showing all your designs that are available?

Thanks, Leonard. I think my son or daughter has the movie around here somewhere.

For those considering either the spare cover or the cowl cover I purchased both from Jerry and they are first class parts, well worth the money.

Thanks Jerry

Jerry, I have an 86.5 that already has the under hood shelf tray. That being said, it has started to flap with the wipers. It seems that the wiper arm is catching the shelf when it goes back and forth. For this reason, I would be interested in one of yours if you can convince me it doesn't do the same thing. I just changed the wiper motor and routed all the wiring and other stuff so that I have a clean area under there. However, the rear of my shelf seems to sag a little, thus hitting the arms. Let me know price and what you think. I am also in the market for a rear spare tire cover. Since it goes under the carpet, I don't much care about the color. The one that is there now is sort of an opaque white.

Thanks,

Roger, Thanks for the plug on my products.

Frank, about your Cowl Cover, I would first suggest that even though my Cowl Cover is far superior to any of the originals, and my two versions are made to replace any or all of them, if yours is not broken up by now from being beat up by the wipers, you can get by with it for a while. I think your problem is that yours is not properly installed.

I am pretty sure that on the 86.5 there are the three mounting tabs under the metal cowl trim piece that is mounted just below the windshield. Look at my thread on the Cowl Covers and find the pictures I have posted of those tabs. I think that your cover is not mounted so that the rear edge is properly captured by or in those tabs, so that allows the rear to sag as you suggest yours is doing.

Even if you put one of mine in there and do not mount it correctly with the rear in the tabs it too will likely be getting banged up with the wipers, but I think it will take the beating a little better than the originals.

Let me know what you find about the Tabs. If I am correct and if yours is broken up then let me know about your interest in one of mine.
