Fully Formed Spare Tire Covers
#32
Leonard's group buy came to 43 Spare Covers and I have been busy the last two weeks geting them made. I have all of them formed and trimmed and a few yet to hand finish. I have shipped 17 of them in the last two days and will get the remainder shipped by Saturday Morning. Packages 8 or 9 at a time makes the shipping just a hair over what I charge for domestic shipping, so ther is a pretty good savings for all the Ausie guys.
I also have a few more made so that I will have a little inventory so I wont be distracted when I get the WW liners into production.
Thanks, Leonard, for putting this together. Now back to the WW Liners which I hope to have done this weekend with the test sets in the mail just after Xmas.

Just got my spare tire cover the other day. This is top notch quality stuff and the fit is excellent. As a bonus, since I didn't have any cover except the carpet over the spare before, adding this cover slightly noticeably reduced road tire noise from the rear. Thanks Jerry, and I'm sure I will be equally as pleased with the WW liners!

WW Liners right now, so no louvers. Well, maybe one louver, but not much on it at this point because I started that development outside on one of my spare hatches and it is 3 degrees F outside right now and not getting much above 20 later in the day, so nothing on it for a little while for sure. I am publishing progress on that project in The Shark Vibes, so I don't think it will be appearing here anyway. What it is in a "one louver" project that I am calling the Stealth Wing/Spoiler. You will have to plug into the OC the get The Shark Vibes to get the next progress report that I hope to have ready for the issue due later in March.
The Wheel Well liners are going into production in the next week or two, so I'll be posting an announcement about that project shortly. I am finishing up refining the mounting brackets so that I can fabricate them without having to fit each one in my car before I ship a liner set. Too, I need to be able to streamline their production so I don't have to re-tool to form each one. I have made about three or four changes in two of the brackets, the ones that will go in the very lower rear of each wheel well, so those are now very different from the ones I think I left in Tony's GTS last spring when I was there trying to fit these liners in his car. I have also refined the front lower brackets a little so I think they are ready to go.
This weekend I am going to finish up forming a small batch of the remainder of the brackets and then do my first full "field test" with one set of these GTS Liners by putting them into my GTS, and that's where I will take the pictures that I need to go with the instructions that I am rewriting about the whole installation process.

I think your report makes three out of six of the Cover packages I sent to that many different addresses in AU. My shipping receipts reflect that fhe first of these, two packages of four each, were sent on Dec 17 and the last of them, the package of 8 that I think you received, was sent on Dec 21. I expect the remainder will be there very soon.
Thanks for the compliment on quality also.

Hi Jerry,
Packaging was in good condition on arrival, no dramas on that front.
AFAIK three packages have arrived here, however a lot of Aussies are still on holiday (until 7th or 14th or 21st Jan) also post over the Xmas break gets a bit random 'til next week so probably expect the remaining parcels to show up then.

Still waiting to see mine arrive. Hopefully this week!
Both packages have arrived into Victoria.
The Queensland package has sustained some damage according to the QLD recipient ..
Quote.. "4 black arrived today. They've had a rough journey going by the packaging. Have only pulled out the bottom one and a couple of minor scratches on the inner side and I will check the others tomorrow. Only real concern will be the outer side of the top one. The middle pair should be OK I expect."
There was no mention of 'package damage' from the Victorians.
Congratulations on a job well done Jerry! I'm certain there will be a demand in Australia for the WWLiners, once you have them under control. Cheers!

Great! I think that makes four out of the six that I sent, (plus the token package I sent to you, Leonard, which was one of the first sent). So all we need to confirm of the Covers is the Cover package to you and the package of four I sent to Perth.

I'm glad you are pleased with it, Ken.
By the way, I think I forgot to mention to you the center console glovebox/armrest that I developed some time ago. There is a picture of it in my other avatar. You can add that to the list of the items that I make for the 928.

The Postage has gone us quite a bit as of Jan 27. The S&H on these Spare Tire Covers is now going to be $21 to domestic. I haven't shipped one out of the country yet, but the next one to go will be $55 and then I will see how well that covers the actual cost. It may have to go up more than that.
