Default mythbusters on last night.

caught the mythbusters 928 on last night.my thoughts were that of disgust.amazing how little respect people show for these cars.dont think you would see them do that to a ferrarri or lambo.although i did see monster garage ruin a brand new beautiful panoz to try to make a rediculous plane.i still say for the money ,300 hp 150 plus mph.best value around.

Are you kidding? Don't you know how much recognition using a 928 earn the car? Now I won't have to say "Risky Business" any more. I've even had several people look closely at the rake of the front window and comment, "nope, too much rake, it will be faster forwards." And that was from the hype before the actual show.

I agree with Richard, the publicity for the model is well worth destroying one, as long as it was not a rare example.

Still, it was an Euro S wasn't it? Why not just pick a boring old US "S"

Yeah I thought the same thing. The car was sitting wrong on the chassis...

Of course the radiator likely did not have any cooling effect... which would impact the performance of the car.

Also the cars should have been early ones with out any spoilers. The red car had the front S chin spoiler. The silver car had both front and rears.

Should have been a 1978 928.

Usually they do quite a good job... but in this case I think they missed a lot of variables.

There was the major discrepancy with fuel consumption when the body was reveresed.. They scratched their heads about it. Something over 40% increase? They were thinking there was a problem with their numbers, but..... Where did the ram air intake tubes go to? Did they have fresh cool air being rammed on the reverse body car? If not, I'd imagine this could be the cause of their significant difference. I hated watching the destruction, but I loved that my 3 year old pointed to the screen and said "porsche 928".... He asked me if I was going make my black car go backwards like that too... I said "NO!"

What a waste of a perfectly good 928. Not to mention the shoddy way they did the testing.

Who cares about the recognition.

+928. The 928 won't be resurected and put back into production due to this exposure, and who really cares about whether it is more aerodynamic forwards or reverse, tow truck drivers?

Frankly, I am not too excited about the exposure or too upset about the Euro being chopped up. If you guys are in the market, be patient. You can find one just like the Mythbusters did.

And if one shows up for sale here or on Ebay, you can bet that some people here will be bashing it as being a wreck, and barely good enough to be a parts car, then offer $500 for it.

Is anyone else having problems with a car that turns a 14 sec. quarter mile taking 8 seconds to go from 0-60?
