The GTS motor comes as either the M28/50 (for automatic cars) or the M28/49 (for manual cars). Since the 5 speed GTS' command the mega bucks, a replacement motor for a 5 speed (M28/49) would be the king of motors, worth mega bucks, if someone needed it for their mega buck collector car. The GTS automatics, being somewhat more available (and less collectible) , usually don't reach that price plateau, so I would think the replacement motor for an automatic (M28/50) would command less.

But in the future, if GTS's become truly collectible, any savvy buyer willing to pay top dollar for a car is going to have a copy of the build sheet, which lists the serial # of the engine for a given car, so just sticking any M28/49 into a 5-speed car isn't enough for a 'no-stories' car. There's only 1 'right' engine for any given GTS.

In 2010 I sort of agree that an M28/49 would be a more valuable used motor, mostly because most buyers' psyches would be less worried about buying a TBF motor.
