I was able to successfully test the switch panel on the 90+ cars yesterday, and can definitely state that the will work with the factory module, and are a direct replacement for the factory switches, no modifications or extra items required. We can provide these pre-wired for the 90+ cars for a nominal upcharge to cover the cost of connectors, postage, and consumable materials.

Thanks,
Hans

Just a quick update:

everyone who have placed an order, should have received a form to fill in their choices in terms of color, finish, functions and icons.

I am still waiting on responses from a few, so if you did order and didn't get that form, please email or PM me.

All the others, thank you for your prompt replies. I will invoice your options this weekend.

Thanks

Paul

The DEI parts just arrived. I need to go and pick them up, but the are "here". Also just arrived today (took way too long to get here) are the specialized crimpers needed for doing Fast-on/Fast-in terminals as used on the factory connectors. I will be doing the 90+ harnesses first, and then start working on the 89> versions.

I did order extra crimp terminals and housings if anyone needs factory connectors for the windows sunroof or wipers for a personal project. I can also provide pre-crimped pigtails if someone needs them.

Thanks to everyone for their support and patience on this project.

Hans

Sounds great. Is it to late to add the switch choice below? You know, the one Roger made famous? T

I have an update for all of you more than patient customers. While assembling the 90+ harnesses this week, I realized that I overlooked a possibility which in theory *could* damage the factory window controller. When I designed the window switch PCB it was under the assumption that all the model years would be using the DEI modules, so I was not keeping a watchful eye on the native 90+ compatibility. I tested the new switch panel on a GT and it did work, and since that date, I have advertised that the switch panel will work without any additional purchase/module on the 90+ cars.

However, I was wrong.

This morning, I designed a small module to fix the potential issue, and now all safety issues are addressed. This new module will be a part of the 90+ plug-and-play harnesses. It is very small, and will not be any more difficult to install.

I am expecting the parts to assemble the modules to be delivered before the end of the week. So the delay should be minimal. I also made a PCB layout to make the modules have the fit and finish of a production part. I sent out this design to several houses to see if I can get some quick-turn boards made. I will post an update when I have more information - should be tonight or tomorrow morning. I can build these on bread-board, and have them done this weekend, and that is an option if I cant get any boards made ASAP. In this case, I will make the modules, and offer an exchange program so that you can get the functionally identical but pretty version of the module any time you choose in the future.

I apologize for the delay and for overlooking this potential problem. This module will be supplied at no charge for all current customers.

The price for the plug-and-play harness for the 90+ models will increase to reflect this module for all future orders. The price has not yet been determined, but I will post as soon as I have the information back from the board houses.

Again my sincere apologies for the delay. I am grateful that the problem was discovered early enough to prevent any potential problems or recalls. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or opinions (venting is acceptable, I also am displeased with this delay).

Special thanks goes out to my good friend Andrew Olson for sending me some "emergency" data yesterday which alerted me to the potential issue - Thanks AO.

No problem, take your time on mine. I would rather wait and have it perfect than rush you and find out there is something missed.

I'm with Jeff...no rush, the '92 switches are working fine, but I do look forward to adding this upgrade!

I have a tracking number for the PCB's for the 90+ module. I should have them by 1/12 (Wednesday). The parts should be here today.

Sorry again for the delay.

For those that are curious, this module eliminates the possibility of pressing both the up and down buttons at the same time. The 90+ factory control units have a single input pin per window, and then either pull that high to 12v or short it to another pin on the micocontroller. this module will disconnect the opposite input during a button press, so that you cant send both signals to that common pin at the same time.

Thanks,
Hans
