No, this is a complete re-design from scratch and a complete different technology. Different team as well.
So I guess the answer is NO

Connectors and harness supplies were just delivered. Just waiting on the board delivery at this point.

I splurged on the harness materials for you guys. I got 10pin rainbow ribbon with all unique colors from Amphenol. This means that the wiring will be very easy, even for custom configurations as each switch will have its own color wire. Also, the Tyco connectors we are using are re-workable without special tools. If you want to change the harness or make your own... etc, you can punch down any 24g wire into the connector.

I think you guys will be very happy with the quality of hardware included.

I was thinking along the same lines. Since I don't need the two sunroof buttons or the rear hatch, that leaves three 'spares' - which I was thinking would look good with something like these...

Any chance of this Paul/Hans?

I can make the buttons. I would leave it to you to "lock & load"

Wow! I need to hang out in the 928 forum more, you guys have some very cool products being developed.

Please put me on the list, I just need to decide what to do with the spare buttons, since my wife's 82 no longer has the rear wiper or hatch release.

Awesome stuff!

Fantastic! Love the eject button the most. How about a "Turbo" boost switch in the same vein.

Paul and Hans ... looking great. I want one .. I really am not a carbon-fibre fan, do they come in anything gloss or flat black or just the carbon fibre look? I will also want a different colour LED, perhaps a German orange.

Heinrich,

For now, we are offering a matte black (which matches the factory plastic very well), a silver brushed aluminum, or black carbon fiber. Custom materials are available for custom projects (but expect a custom price )

LEDs are standard T1-3/4 (5mm) size, so you can order any color you want through your favorite parts supplier (Mouser, Digikey, Newark, Suberbrightled...). I did order some test LEDs the other day trying to find that intense orange color, and didnt find it on the first try. I suspect its somewhere in the order of 595nm. 590nm is too yellow, and 601 was too red. For now, we are offering white, blue, and red, and recommending that customers order custom colored LEDs themselves for evaluation, as it is tough to capture various shades of difficult colors by camera. LEDs are inexpensive. The ones we get from the fiberoptic supplier are $1, and they are less through the vendors mentioned above so spend a couple bucks and get the perfect color you are after. The LEDs slide into the connectors, so changing them for evaluation is very easy. It only becomes a bit challenging after the unit is installed in the console, as some disassembly is required.

When ordering custom LEDs, you want a focus of between 15 and 20 degrees, forward voltage of around 3.5v and forward current around 30ma. It doenst need to be exact, but the limiting resistor I am installing in the harness is selected around those parameters. If you find a "must have" LED that is significantly outside those parameters, it can be used, but I would suggest changing the resistor in the harness. I can help with resistor selection if anyone needs it.

Thanks
Hans
