90+ harnesses are almost done. I will have everyones made by the end of the night, and they will be on the way to Paul first thing monday morning.

I am hoping to get most if not all of the 89 and older harnesses done tomorrow. I will make sure to post an progress report tomorrow.

Thanks,
Hans

The switches also feel bad. One side is smooth without a lot of pressure required and the drivers side ( pulled from sexual chocolate) is much stiffer and clicky. Now that I think about it I am not sure which is correct since this is my first 928

I completed about 15 of the 90+ harnesses, and have been working all day on the 89 and older versions. I have been building the various elements that go into the harness, so the final assembly is very modular, with differences coming mainly in how the harness is punched down.

Harness assembly is taking much more time than expected. I have about 22 of the 89> harnesses components assembled. I have approximately 24hours this weekend into construction, so it looks like I will be averaging about 50minutes/harness all said and done.

So, looks like the package of harnesses will be shipping out to Paul on Tuesday morning instead of Monday. This will include most of the harnesses. We had some late updates from customers, which will require ordering some additional materials, and those harnesses will not ship down to Paul until later in the week.

Thanks
Hans

Put another evening into the harnesses. We are getting closer, but they wont ship out tomorrow.

I dont think i have run across two identical older style harnesses yet. Each one requires some kind of custom modification. Even though I have most of the major components of the harnesses assembled, I have to do modify each one in some way. I have about a dozen of the the earlier harnesses about 90% done. I am going to go through and get the bulk of all the harnesses done, and then go back and perform the customizations... that seems to be the fastest method so far.

Thanks for your patience. I am constantly recalculating the time that goes into each harness. It has now certainly surpassed the hour/harness mark, and with over 50 harnesses to do, it looks like these wont ship till Thursday.

I will continue to post updates.

Thanks
Hans

Hans for a lot of us the cars are hibernating and it's too cold outside to do anything at all.

80% of the harnesses are done. I was waiting on a couple parts to come in to finish the rest (ran out of some wire, diodes and modules for some that ordered later than the original group buy), and all came in over the weekend. I should have enough time tonight to get these finished up and sent out tonight.

Thanks again for all your patience. I have learned quite a bit about assembling these, and will be incorporating some changes into the future version of the harnesses to make these faster. I will be posting the changes for future customers later this week, but in summary for a plug-and-play harness on the 89 and older, I will only offer the 530t, so in a sunroof application two 530t modules will be required. We will also be recommending the 611t for all applications, as it can be configured to act in the same way the 528t can, but with additional functionality.

The 530t does cost more for a sunroof application, but it offers some additional functionality as well as a less sensitive sensing circuit which helps with sticky/slow sunroofs. If any current harness owner has any issues with using the 528 for the sunroof, I will gladly rework the harness for dual 530t installation, but this should only be necessary if there is an underlying mechanical issue with the sunroof which should probably be addressed anyway.

Thanks,
Hans

Jeff,

I will contact those who wanted to be added to the sill project list and invoice them so that I can ship both projects together.

I have everything on hand for the illuminated sills. Everything except time that is

Paul

Paul. Don't worry about it. Ship the switches when you get them. we'll get the sills when you get them done. I am not worried about savings on combined shipping.
