Hello again,
here are a few of the custom icons that were requested.
Picture taken inside, but in daylight.
Laser test done on the black carbon fiber.
Blue LED
Top row: NOS, express down, missiles, eject seat
Second row: door lock, express up, not sure about that one, bull's eye

Great job Paul! I love how you've cleaned up my amateurish graphics...

Just one question on the order of the layout though (counting 1 to 8 from top left to bottom right). Since my car is RHD, the rear wiper is currently located in position 7 - and since I'd like to have express up/down capability it would be best to have those next to the standard up/down on the RHD driver's side (positions 3 & 7). Since I'll know what they are though, there's no need for the standard express labels, so I'd still rather have them labeled with the 'special' buttons. So would it be possible to move the rear wiper to say position 6? - leaving 3 and 7 available for the express up/down?
In other words, like this:
1 = passenger window up
2 = ejector seat
3 = bull's eye (but really acting as RHD driver window express up)
4 = driver window up
5 = passenger window down
6 = rear wiper
7 = missiles (but really acting as RHD driver window express down)
8 = driver window down
Hope this makes sense!

Hey Andrew,
that is not an actual layout. I just put the new icons on my template to display them.
You guys have complete control on the layout and choice of icons, between those and the standard icons.
I also have the "window open/close" icons in reverse for the left side of the car, for those who suggested it.
And thanks, those were fun to do![rockon](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rockon.gif)

I realise your carbon fibre one wasn't the actual layout...I was really just wanting to know if the position of the switch [functions] could be fiddled with or whether they were already hard wired into the circuit board. You've answered my question though...it's great to know we can choose any positions!

UPDATE
The boards came in yesterday, and I soldered the connectors on last night. I am shipping them down to Paul this morning.
Regarding the DEI modules, if anyone would like authorized units with full warranty, I can provide the following pricing (please note that this is the cost of the module, exclusive of any shipping charges we will incur sending them):
530T (controls both windows) - $50
529T (controls sunroof) - $25
528T (timer relay for parallel kickdown option) - $10.50
611T (toggle switch for parallel kickdown option) - $12.50
It is possible that these prices may go down with volume, and if that is the case, we will rebate any further price reductions. We are passing along cost on these, and not marking them up at all. So, please dont feel that you need to order these through us, we are just offering them to make it more convenient for some customers. Prices for the modules are still cheaper on ebay.
90+ owners - At this time we are NOT reccomending owners of the 90+ cars to purchase the DEI window modules (529T or 530T). I will confirm this weekend, but believe the new switch panel will replace the factory switches directly, with no additional wiring necessary. DEI modules can still be installed on the 90+ cars, but installation is more challenging, as the primary harness for the window motor leads is under the drivers seat, not in the console. I can provide assistance to any one who would still like to use the DEI modules in their 90+, but the plug-and-play option for these cars will be for the stock module only at this time. *Installation of the DEI modules is not much more difficult than replacing the stock module, which is no-longer available from Porsche. If your factory module has failed, replacing it with DEI's is not a complicated procedure, but is made easier by removing the drivers seat*
89 and older owners - if you would like a plug-and-play harness for your car, I will need both the harnesses included with your DEI module. I will provide this service for the cost of materials and $10 to cover consumables and return shipping (expect the total price to be around $15 for everything). Harnesses will include insulated female quick-connect terminals on color-coded leads. You will need to observe the color code when installing, and secure the terminals inside the chassis-side harness with a bit of electrical tape. If you would like to retain the stock connectors, you can send your switch pigtails in with the harnesses, and I will return them with the factory connectors attached. Wiring diagrams will be provided if you chose to install on your own. The process is painless to make your own harness, and you have the benefit of instant satisfaction.
Auto Trans Owners - When we first started the switches, we planned on offering a PKD (Parallel Kickdown Switch) option, but forgot to mention it on the list until recently reminded (thanks Nicole). If you have an auto trans, then you can use any spare switch location to engage a PKD switch. While there are lots of ways to do this, we are recommending using either the DEI 528T or the 611T. Operation is as follows:
528T - this is a timed relay. After installation, pressing the button will latch the relay in the closed position for xx amount of user definable seconds. So, you can pull to the light, press the button, and for 30-seconds (or another amount of your choosing) the PKD would be enabled. After that time, the relay will unlatch, and shifting will return to normal.
611T - this is a toggle switch. It takes a momentary switch and converts it to an on/off style. So, you would press the button to engage PKD and press again to disengage PKD.
Wiring either option is very simple. A pair of wires needs to be run from the accelerator pedal to the console. Because of the nature of this product, I dont believe that I will offer harnesses for the PKD option. It is very easy to implement, and if you need connectors/wire, I will gladly send the materials along for a little more than the cost of postage. I will also post some suggestions on how to install. Additional time for wiring the PKD should be in the order of 10 minutes if completed while doing the initial window switch installation.
Thanks,
Hans

I'm in on the switches just under the wire with Paul.
Please sign me up for a window and a sunroof controller.
Hopefully we can negotiate a deal on the shipping

FYI (hope its not off topic)
On my 89 from Japan (don't know if that makes a difference)
just before i come to a stop, it shifts into 1st (if I have the shifter in 2nd or low)
I always manualy shift it.
It stays in 1st untill I hit the KD on the floor (no matter what the rpm are) or, if I push the shifter into 3rd then right back to 2nd.
Now it will stay in second unless I slow to a stop and it shifts down to 1st again at about 3 mph.
If I do not pull the shifter from 3rd back to 2nd right away, and if I am not under load or power, then it with sift from 2nd to 3rd within about 2-3 seconds.

Brad, that sounds like your tranny is shifting just as it should. The PKD option would be for those who are not interested in manually shifting their cars... It would cause the car to start in 1st even when the car is in "D" and then depending one which DEI unit you were running either go back to normal shifting (ie. starting in 2nd gear when the car is in "D") after a user specified period of time or when the switch was pushed again to toggle the PKD off.

the PCBs and harnesses are on their way to me, so I will start putting those things together.
I will go through the list and contact each one to discuss/clarify all the choices and options.
Those of you who want to purchase the DEI modules from us and have Hans set up the P&P harness can tell me at that time.
We see the finishing line on this one, thank you all again for your support.
