To answer a couple questions, current "cost" (actual price would be a bit higher for handling... etc) on the DEI modules is under $80 through an authorized dealer. Current ebay pricing is around $65 or so. I am trying to get the price down to around $70 or $75 for the pair out the door with full warranty. I should know on that later this evening. It would still be cheaper to source through ebay, but you would have a hassle with a warranty issue in the future if something would happen.
On the 89 and older models, I can terminate the harness with spades, and they just plug strait into body harness. You would just need to read the direction to plug the correct color lead into the connectors, and then tape them up to secure them.
On the 90+ if you want the advanced functionality of the DEI modules, you will need to run 4-5 leads under the seat to the factory window controller. Otherwise, if you are happy with the stock functionality, but just want updated switches, it is VERY likely that the panel will have enough current capacity to trigger the factory module. Unfortunately, the closest 90+ car to me is about a 2-hour drive, so I have not tested this yet, but have made arrangements to do so in the near future. Assuming that the panel does have the current capacity to interface with the factory module, then it will also be a plug-and-play operation for the windows and sunroof.
If someone wanted to measure the current on the window switches on a 90+ car for me when pressed, I could tell you now if the panel will directly wire in or not.
The trunk release is not a stock function in the center console, so anyone wishing to use that function WILL need to do some additional wiring, and run a lead to the hatch-pull.
If you have other questions, just ask.
Thanks
Hans

Question about the people doing the express down button. Is it possible to do a one touch all open / all close? Can one button do this? Or if that is not possible is it possible to add the sunroof to the express open option?

It is possible to have a global express open/close option when using th DEI modules. You would need to custom order the graphic with Paul though, as it will require a dedicated button.
It is likely that the 90+ owners who want to retain their stock control module can also have the global express-close by using the lock trigger lead. I will be testing this next week.
Thanks

Paul and Hanz,
Do you think this is possible?
for an instrument panel in 928.

Hans, my Euro 92 GTS has express up on the drivers window, but not on the passenger. Both are express down. My '94 US GTS has express down but NO express up on either window.
Both have express open on the sunroof but not express close on either.

remind me when we go over the details for your panel. Everything will go through the same channel to avoid any mix-up, since you already paid for the panel itself.
Everything will ship in the same box.
