Default Engine build

Just looking for advice for an engine build that we will be doing. What I have is:

4.7L euro engine block that was rebuilt m28-11

4.5L US heads that have been rebuilt

Euro intake and TB from an 85-86 euro car

cams from a 78

We are wanting to give our 928 US model a little more power but want this to work with the existing wiring and the L-Jet system. Any recommendations would be helpful. I would like to keep this a non-interference engine with the ability to supercharge down the road. Would I need to get different injectors for this setup? Any other tips from people who have done something like this before would be helpful. Thanks

get those heads ported and fitted with bigger valves. ( 43mm ex, and 45mm intake) or just get a euro head
the euro intake is good and we can guide you on how to make that work.
78 cams are decent, but better to get some euro cams if you want that engine to sing. basically, you have a US 4.7 set up with a euro intake and a little better cam in the '78 cams. having done just the intake, i can tell you, it was pretty impressive. (but also the euro cams). 42hp gain at the rear wheels.(i.e. 200rwhp to 242rwhp). adding the euro heads and a 5 liter bottomend, we got 290 at the rear wheels.
It might be worth, selling the 4.7 euro block and get a 5 liter 85 block and just notch the pistons for valve relief.
as far as interference ,and lower compression, you might be ok with what you have. the valve reliefs are really big on the 82 euro's, and the 78 cams dont have much lift, so you should be good. compression will be higher than the stock 9.3 to 1, but not by much.

Any idea on the cost to port the heads on a US 4.5L(nothing fancy) and put in the bigger valves. I have been tossing this one around and was curious on how much it costs really from the bigger valve standpoint. Is that really a lot of work that you would get charged a arm and a leg!

So with the current stuff I have would I have to do anything different when using the euro TB and intake with regards to the kind of injectors I use? Anything with the wiring need to be changed??

nope, its all bolt on . nothing to worry about . the only thing youneed to do on the intake is re-route a couple of hoses for breathers. you should grind out the "U" part that attaches to the plennun, to better port match it to the new larger throttle body. thats 5 mins with someones air grinder.
I ran NO changes to anything electrical, including injectors from 170rwhp to 290rwhp. only a fuel regulator was needed at the larger hp levels. (to run near 70psi). but at 240, stock stuff will work, but a regulator is a good idea to fatten the mixture up. its a bolt on affair and works basically out of the box without any tuning.

much cheaper to just find a set of euro heads and have the surface done, and maybe seats cleaned up if needed. I just bolted a very old set on my 5 liter euro project and it was fine.

so you went from 170 to 290hp by doing a similar setup that I am thinking of doing? I will have to look into getting a fuel regulator as well. Who sells those?
