That same friday night is Fotsol night, which is indoor soccer with my son, and I shanked a turn and rolled my left ankle to the point I heard popping noises as I was going down. I was unable to walk for 3 hours, and was in no shape to drive a manual car come Saturday morning. I will still on crutches Sunday and today I am hobbling around with a still swollen ankle. I did drive today, but would never have been able to repeated clutch the car on Saturday even if I could walk then.

Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with some of the locals in some other way soon.
Brendan,

I'm sorry that we didn't get to meet you, I was hoping to be able to thank you in person for the DD clutch set that you sold us. It's working great, and Sue especially is enjoying the lighter pedal. She got stuck in stop-and-go traffic for an hour between Diamond Bar and Anaheim Saturday evening, and emerged smiling! (Well, maybe not smiling but certainly not limping!).

Thank you!

And take care of that ankle, hope it heals soon!

Brendan- Sorry for your soccer injury, hope the clutching ankle is better soon! I think I have a bachelor weekend right before Thanksgiving, will have to find an excuse for a clinic so we can have a look at Leeroy again. Maybe a brake or other fluids flushfest? Or ???

Neil- My intake and valve covers are powdercoated, it's a color that Greg's PC guy matched against a NOS intake side cover. Not sure whether Dan's is PC'ed or not, I think it might be painted. His has a slightly more golden hue to it.

My car's intake and valve covers are just paint. Rob's car is powder coated.

Can't recall the brand or color. Greg painted them. I will ask him.

Neil-

There's another thread where folks did a lot of legwork on color matching. I've seen William's intake up close and it looks great- more silver than mine but probably closer to the color the intakes were when new 20 years ago.

Another great event. Thanks to Mark and the 928 Int'l crew for putting it together, and thanks to all the great people for making it so enjoyable and memorable! This was the first time it was so wet, but that didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits. As always, it's great to meet up with old friends and make new ones.

Here are my pics from the event:

Hotel Arrival late Thursday... first shark in the lot:

I went out Friday afternoon after washing my car to scout some locations to shoot the fundrive, and returned to find a few more sharks at the hotel:

Playing with reflections:

Bareback x2:

Jim Bailey's "Brown, Very Brown" 928:

Kumho is Jim's co-pilot:

A full load:

By about 9:45 the lot was beginning to fill up:

Another view:

I guess Mike doesn't like white cars...

...

Dwayne's non-sunroof "Virginia":

Even in a sea of gorgeous sharks, Dan's Zyclamrot Metallic '90 turns heads.

Everything that can possibly wear is new... The brakes look better than showroom.

Dan has every reason to be smiling.

Pictures fall short of showing how beautiful this color is, or how much it shines on this car.

Rob Edward's GTS Stroker engine bay. Pure, smog-approved ****:

More engine bay ****, Dan's Z-rot this time:

One alternative -- an LS7:

This LS7 race car had far too many excellent details to list. Really a work of art. Too bad we couldn't hear it run...

Here's the interior -- all business:

Very clean setup:

The last stop for about 1,000 928s before they were disassembled and sorted onto shelves:

Misc. stuff:

Watching fellow 928'ers tear up and down the street:

Dan texting his wife: "Got the car... No, Really... It's allllmost ready. Really. Honest."

I think she's going to be stunned.

Greg Brown running the G28 disassembly tech session:

Diff out, ready to get down to it:

Greg using his favorite tool(tiny version):

"Do you really think that tiny impact gun is going to be of any use?" (Attempt #1 at removing nut holding reverse gear)

I think this was attempt #3 or #4...

Final score: Nut, 5. Rob, 0. Fortunately Rob didn't hurt himself.

Mark squaring the bill(dutch) at the Amazon BBQ Saturday night. (Sorry, most of the pics from the restaurant came out poorly because I fat-fingered a flash setting, this is the only one worth posting)

I made an attempt to catch the folks on the fun drive before leaving town -- I had a lunch date with my sister in Valencia and couldn't go on the drive. Here is the first in the series.

...

...

People beginning to point at where they thought I was...

Being passed by a Honda? Geeeez...

Tom(Supercedar) and Rob pointing, Jim Corenman shrugging...

Waves from Rob & Jim...

...

...

A final wave from Rob... Wow, that Honda is really haulin' ***! I have some ideas for next time, like having everyone in the left lanes and maybe start grouping up earlier. I guess sharks don't normally swim in schools, but this worked out OK or a first attempt.

A few grab shots on I-5, out the window at speed. Some of these are worth hanging on the wall once I 'shop out the mirror and other cars:

...

...

...

I'm already looking forward to next year, I hope to see you all there again!

Great shots Dave! I didn't get the memo that you were shooting us until after we got up the hill... (I would have cut off that honda!)

Great seeing you again this year! If you could have come on the fun run this year, your video would have been too fast for Rush to sync with... Sue really put the hammer down!

Outstanding pictures Dave! We were crawling along at about 55 mph just before the 57/60, I was waving wildly to get people at least 2 abreast. You were one bridge farther north than I thought.... D'oh!

Passed the Honda shortly thereafter....

Perhaps next year we can just do a flyby shoot/video on the overpass just west on Miraloma there. On Saturday, when everyone's around to participate. There's a little room for getting up to speed there.

I ended up turning around about 3 miles later and you were still on the bridge as I was coming back headed south. Had I known you'd still be there I would have been in 3rd gear under the bridge...

Dave what an amazing set of pictures. You really captured the moment and allowed those of us that couldn't make it to live vicariously through those pictures.

Damn Dan, that Z Rot car looks drop dead gorgeous. IMHO that is hands down the best color for the 928 and sadly there aren't many out there in that color. If it was a 5 spd I would probably be stalking you to buy it! You need to post some detailed pictures of the engine, wheel wells, interior and of course some close ups of the body!

Thanks Afshin, high praise coming from you. This car is the only production 928 in Zyclamrot Metallic. Ferry's four door Estate is the only other one. A 911 and 944 of the same year (1990) were also painted this color. They too are one of one.

The color really shifts depending upon the light. In the garage is looks reddish brown. In bright daylight the metallic really sparkles and gives it a pearly appearance. In overcast it is this rich bright burgundy color. More pics to come once I get the car cleaned up after it's trip from SoCal to the Valley of the Sun.
