The other thing you can try is contact Porsche Classic in Stuttgart - they have a stash of rare materials for factory restorations. They would probably expect you to send the seats to them for recovery, but if nobody else has the fabric, this would be better than no solution - right?

Great lead, Greg... thanks!
Looks like the have enough of the "47A", Black/Brown
I just have to send them a sample and the will verify a match.
RL rocks again!

I have, Nicole. For whatever reason, the have chosen to suspend contact with me.
I was congenial, did everything they asked and supplied them with info on my car...
Then nothing. I will try again, though admittedly was dissappointed.

Good news. Putt may also have the correct german vinyl. Then you'll need a good trim shop.

I'm going with Bob Budd @ Classic 9 Leather.
He's already matched the vinyl and it's spot on.
Pascha, not close.... but it was matched only by pics. I understand nothing beats having both samples in your hands, in the daylight.

However, I wish I could use the Black/Beige Bob sent me because it's more striking w/ contrast and modern-ish.

As it was...

Make sure you get plenty of material. The alternating Pasha pattern means you'll need more than the usual for a more straight line pattern. I had just enough when i did mine but expected to have more left over.

Greg is correct. 5 meters, I think, is the minimum. There's a lot of waste because you have to have the pattern "centered" down the front of the seat and the material might not be cut in such a way that you can get 2 seat's worth from one length of material. That might vary with the particular roll of material it comes from though. If it were me, I'd buy 8 meters just in case something bad happened to the seats once or twice, I'd have something that matches.

Door inside knop type? Tacho redline? Ignition key position? See:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-us-model.html

Cross brace under exhaust is normal setup in '78 MY cars. It was on the way when removing exhaust so it was changed to different much shorter setup above exhaust for later MY's.

I had my cross brace altered (lowered) to accommodate MSDS headers.

Behind that panel. In earliest cars they were probably in old style tool roll.
