Three Wheelin'
Mine was a daily driver for the first 4 years of ownership. From '96 to about 2000. Parked it after it's 3rd alternator failure. Also, it had started an internal water leak. It sat until last year when I got it running again. All it took was a fuel pump/filter, and of course, an alternator. Shortly afterwards, pulled the suspect head gasket and, in fact, found it to be leaking. I'm sure the other one probably isn't much better. Anyway, picked up an engine off Ebay for $200. It came out of a wrecked car, and for the price, I figured it was worth the gamble. I figure if the other engine is alright as advertised, then that will buy me some time to rebuild the original. If all is well after the switch, then I'll daily it once again.

Drifting
I drive mine when ever I can. I drove it daily this week but when It rains the streets are so dirty and the car is hard to clean I take the truck if its going to be nasty weather.
I'm not scared to drive it in the rain though, just hate the 3 times over to get it clean

It's all well covered here but here is my $0.02.
I am in my fifth year of ownership. I have spent money on things that I would never have imagined prior to buying the car and also sponsored a mild restoration. Best work done was an intake overhaul (vacuum lines, oil leak resolution, powder coat on intake tubes, new MAF, new ISC and on an on) which got me out of the 14 mpg cellar. Fuel economy is generally 17 mpg in around town use and about 22-23 in highway runs. Otherwise the car was always good cosmetically and is now what I wanted - a hobby but not a pain in the neck. Three words to all - pre purchase inspection. I could have saved so much time, money and aggravation if I'd taken this one small step.
The overall record is 104 days in a row of some driving. I don't drive in the winter ( MN DOT likes to apply 2 inches of salt per inch of snow ) so I am generally March to November. That's plenty - valuable things are always scarce. Someday I will drive my car over the Kancamangus Highway after a snowstorm and I will smile like a jack-o-lantern when I do this. Is there a Blizzack for this car?

I apoligize for not reading every post.
I've owned my vehicle for almost 13 years now. Unfortunately in the last 3years it has been left sitiing there and might as well be the worlds most expensive chicken coupe or doghouse. I do feel for it. That does mean that I have emotions for it. It has done something to me.
Why, because it's a damn fine car-when I was driving it Daily.
It is no different than having a higher than average maintanance girlfriend or wife.
I DID NOT SAY" HIGH "maintanence though.
The payback is more than the sum of the parts.
What a fine machine. You tend to care for it as a pet somewhat and I'm not talking about a fish either. A good Dog. That's it.
It will start every day and take you to work and back.
In the winter, as long as your temperatures are NOT getting lower than -18 degrees Cel. She'll be just fine in taking you wherever you wish to go. If you have a garage all the better. There isn't a block heater made for the car.
Parts , really are not expensive.
The only complaint that I have with the vehicle is that in the winter when the roads are slippery AND I used to take a Highway commute to work, was when the Traction control would kick in. I found it a little slow in response to barren and the covered roads where the *** would twich.
Anyway, I survived and this behavior kept me wide awake after those long days.
Gas mileage is a non-issue considering what the vehicle gives back.
Working on the vehicle, is usually an enjoyable experience. It is somewhat a proud moment when you begin to figure out what the manufacturer was thinking. Not to mention the neighbors when they realize you can fix a PORSCHE.
Many proud moments in ownership.
The best thing is though, when you go anywhere with the car and park it, you will find yourself turning a 180 to take a look at what you've got and it will put a smirk on your face.
