Routine maintenance for me. Two weeks after I got the last one installed I got a rock hit that cracked it.

That's great news Rob! Which car to bring? That's an easy question to answer, both! Happy to help ferry if needed.

Charles--

Hook up with the NorCal caravan on the way down and have a support team with you. Update your AAA to include extended towing, and you'll never need it. It's a car-ma thing.

I could use a antenna one if available for a decent price. I would like to hook up with some from my area if your headed that way.

Update your AAA to include extended towing,
With extended towing, all you have to do is make it to the top of the Grapevine and the tow to 928Intl (97 miles....) is free!

Rob,

Both. If you can only bring one, GTS! I gotta hear that exhaust!

I guess you can alternate... Lucky Dog...

Are you going on the fun drive?

I just talked to Greg Brown and he will be doing a tech session on the 5sp transmission. He also said that anyone wanting to video tape it or do a live web cam was welcome to.

Yes, in response to continual requests, Mark and I decided to tear apart an early 5 speed and look at all the pieces to determine what is needed. We will be showing methods of disassembly that reduce the need for special tools. Bring your safety glasses and hard hats.

Not sure about the video tape and live camera thing. Mark must have gotten into the
cleaning solvents, again.

I did a little recon this weekend, trying to find the best driving roads.

First I took the F40 out, on the Col de Turini:

Then I trekked over to the Stelvio pass.

Then jetted east to the Transfagarasan (skip to about 1:00)

But then I found this, right in our backyard, seemed an easier commute for everyone. So it's a possibility...

Very nice. Been a long time since I have been on Glendora Ridge Road. I counted 2 cars, 1 truck and bicyclist on the road. It's gotten more congested than when I use to run it.

Any thoughts on a run over Ortega Hwy? Would be good for those of us headed eastbound out of town

The problem with Ortega is that it is heavily patrolled, and you end up in Lake Elsinore, which is inconvenient for the NorCal folks to head home. It'd be great for me, I'd just have to do a U-turn and head back up the hill

We could certainly re-visit ROTW, I never get tired of that drive. That lets out near I-10 in Redlands, good for the AZ crew, the LV folks, and is near 15 (or I-10W) for the NorCal contingent.

After I hit the lottery, we're renting El Toro or California Speedway, and having a 928-only autocross, to settle the score once and for all.
