No lexan.....
green cylinder bores are normal for the alusil 928 blocks.....
I got more done on the airbox last night. It is really starting to take shape. I'm lucky enough in the timing that I was able to take some good advice from Louie, on his airbox design, and encorporate some changes to make servicing the throttle linkages, if they need it, as well as a few other ideas.

I can't wait for more pictures. I love to follow your work.
Good thing I'm not your neighbor, or I would always be over there and either my car would not get done, or I would be in serious debit

starting to look like an airbox
this is very rough but starting to take shape. The more I work with fiberglass the more respect those that are really good at it... I problably have about 40hours into it at this point.

That thing looked more like a carrier launch than a drag strip start.
and Sterling, I know exactly what you mean about the fiberglass. I did my MAF splitter in fg and for all the time I have in on it, I still know there are a lot of imperfections that I just couldn't get right. Your intake looks very cool. Can't wait to see the finished product. You should name your car the phoenix because it keeps rising up from it's own ashes stronger and faster than before.

"Just an update, we ran last Saturday and lost in the final due to broken motor. Ran a 4.46 @ 168 mph (1/8th mile) That's approximately 6.80 @ 205+ in the 1/4 mile. Previous best was 4.60 @ 159 mph. We are now also the fastest "backhalf" car in the country. (Backhalf means basically stock front frame rails, suspension, and firewall, but all tube chassis from firewall back.)"
Here are a few threads on Rennlist from Danny.

Sterling, sorry for the hijack...maybe others interested in this car should post in those threads...or suffer the wrath of Sterling...LOL..J/K
Cheers,
Dave

With only 2000hp.....I wonder what it would do with Individual Throttle Bodies?? :-)
True...would love to be a fly on the wall watching Sterling working with fiberglass and resin!!
Gonna be funny when we get to see the pic of his hand accidentally fiberglassed to a beer bottle after a few drinks!!
