Yea, but if some one were to build a airbox like is on a M5 it would be easy to boost.

I have a cool design that I have in my head, but that is as far as it has gone.
For ITB injection
The manifolds would be similar to the duel ferrari intake Y'd to a single inlet at the front, right to the blower.

I like the cross flow design, but mike would have to make longer curved lower tubes for it.

Sorry Sterling, I just like the look of a nicely machined cast airbox.
It would make it look like that the factory did it.
And adding a little boost would be easy after the airbox was in place.

After checking out the car in Sterling's website, I realized he was not making his 928 faster but is building a better car.

I would like to respond to all the talk about why the cams are drilled.

I guess the obvious would be to reduce weight.

I thought of a simple analogy to help some of you understand where this weight saving will really help.

If you think of turning a large solid heavy cast wheel, with a hand crank you will realize that it would be hard to spin up fast and hard to slow down fast.
If you make that same size wheel light then the acel time and decel time of that part is reduced with less ware and tear on your arm.

Mike cams will increase efficiency because they are lighter to spin up as well as they will reduce ware on the chain and belt/gears just from reducing the reciprocation mass.

The performance and longevity will be proven but I dont see any reason why they would not last. I do think that the billet cam's will not brake like the cast cam nose.

Just 1 guys opinion

in addition the gross lift and duration of the cams simard made for my stroker was not the secret stuff ....it had something to do with the WAY he accomplished that so that greg could run not so stiff springs..... anything for more hp!!!

Reflections off of the piston tops? IIRC Sterling's block is Nikasiled, which is a darker gray color.

Look at some of his shortblock pics here:

Huh, based on my n of 1, mine seemed darker, but they are reflective as well. This pic is pre-block cleaning (and cleaning and cleaning....) so maybe they were just dusty with whatever leftover compound was on the bores. Prominent hatchmarking as well:

Sterling, I see you are building the intake the way others have.
would you be interested in another style that could easily be removed in a min or so and show more of your ITB?

Brad
