Default 928 Specialists To The 928 Community – I Sincerely Apologize.

Dear Everyone:

Due to health issues – that I will not discuss, please don’t ask – I have been running 928 Specialists, for the better part of 8 – 10 months, pretty much by myself – on my own. I have been overwhelmed, as some of you might be able to imagine. During this time, I have dropped the ball, things have fallen through the cracks, I have let down my customers, friends, 928 Specialists, David, and myself – and for this I sincerely apologize to everyone.

The good news is, as of last Wednesday, I now have Pam back with me in the office. We are busting our butts trying to get everything and everyone caught up that I have personally let slide – yep, all me – no one else to blame here. So, now I will ask a favor of you all. If you have an outstanding order, or something on backorder that I have not addressed with you in the past week, please do one of the following:

E-mail me directly (jeannie “at” 928gt.com). Please include your REAL name (not your Rennlist handle), a phone number where I can call you should I need to, and if you have an order number, that would be cool but not absolutely necessary.

Or

Call me 828-766-9280. If you call and get Voice Mail, please leave a clearly stated message with your REAL name and a return phone number. Again, if you have an order number, that would be cool but not absolutely necessary.

Pam or I will respond back to you within 1 business day (M-F). If you do not get a response, you can safely assume that we did not receive your message – or you did not receive our reply and I will ask you to contact us again and let us know this. Cyberspace is unpredictable and I cannot tell you how many phone messages I receive that are indecipherable.

For those of you that have posted here in various threads that you have placed orders, paid for them, not received them, and various other things I have heard about through the grapevine, help me out with your REAL name and I will happily look into the situation and rectify it to the best of my ability. I really don’t have the time to research and try to figure out who you are…..I am far too busy taking care of the people that are honestly asking for our help in getting their 928 goodies, and not being clandestine in their requests and innuendos.

Please DO NOT post your info here. I am far to busy to be looking at Rennlist for order information and trying to figure out your real name. DO NOT PM me on here as I will not be checking that either. E-mail me directly – jeannie “at” 928gt.com, or call us 828-766-9280.

Pam and I truly want to get everyone taken care of as quickly as possible and we would greatly appreciate your help in doing this.

Blessed Be,

Jeannie Roberts

I know how frustrating it must be to have people complain and then you have no idea of who they are and no way of finding out who they are.

Jeannie, is there any one who you do not know the real name of that you would like to try and get some things taken care of?

I also hope the health issues get better, and I am glad you have the help you have been needing now.

Just in case some one can not see her avatar very well, Pam on the left and Jeannie on the right.

I for one still think you were doing as much as a single person could do.

Thank you for shedding some light on the subject. You will always have my support, business and friendship. I myself have not forgotten what you and David have done for the 928 community , i have said it before and i'll say it again "if not for David Roberts there would not be affordable 928 parts"

now for the complainers you just got an explanation, an apology and an owning of the problem. now you decide shut up, absolute silence very compassionate , i guess nobody here has ever had a hard time or made few mistakes. nice guys very nice

Hot girl-on-girl action with our 928 parts!

What's not to like.

Hi Michael,

It wasn't easy, I put in a lot of long hours, and very long weekends the 6 weeks leading up to the event. However, we have put on SITM for 13 years now, and while things do change, most of the prep work (what I do) stays the same. I kind of have it down to an art form at this point. Pam was also available to help with the party this year, and I have absolutely awesome friends (who also happen to own 928’s) that come to town early just to help me out with the last minute details. Getting to see all of you at SITM is the highlight of our year, every year, I was going to get it done one way or the other

Jeannie for President!

I can't imagine trying to handle the business they have been doing for so many years keeping 928ers on the road and also sponsoring events to get them together over these many years. Running this business as a husband and wife team is a feat that would test a marriage to it's fullest.

Getting back lovely Pam is a great addition and Dave should consider himself lucky to have two hotties working with him. I for one am jealous!

Jeannie and Dave, thank you for the many years of service to me and most importantly your friendship.

Kindest regards,

Thumbs up

Jeannie, thanks for posting this... I hoped you or David would chime in here with a message like what you've posted: it's important for people to know that you've been struggling to keep up and have taken measures to fix the problem.

I'll reiterate something that's been posted on Rennlist 928 a number of times: if you have any problems with a vendor, call them and work things out. Don't just stew about it, especially if you're depending on e-mail or the website to be your sole source of communication. I know that David and Jeannie (and now Pam again) have been terrific to work with in the past and will work hard to iron out problems when they know about them (and, in some cases, are nicely reminded, if they've dropped the ball).

During stressful times (we've all been there, right?), sometimes things become disorganized and things fall between the cracks. And things can snowball pretty quickly and get out of control. I assure you, it can be downright terrifying if you're on the business side of this, especially if you're a small business and everything falls on a few people (or one person!).

I'd just encourage everyone to communicate frequently and honestly: it has the power of fixing just about anything when both parties are well intentioned, and I know that my friends at 928SP are just that.

Jeannie (trying to be constructive here...), if there's anything we (as your customers) can do, don't hesitate to ask. Maybe, for example, it would help if we could help separate orders that are time-critical vs. those that aren't, etc. Do you prefer called-in orders or web orders? Etc.

BTW, Greg, you could have at least Photoshopped out the hairy-armed dude. It spoils an otherwise great photo.

Jeannie,

I applaud your perseverance. I understand completely how one can get buried and even the best intentions are sometimes not enough.
Glad Pam is back.
All my best to you and Dave.

I just think that people forget that most of these 928 parts businesses are run by just a handful of individuals. So if one of them has health problems, a bad day, a family emergency, etc, then business will suffer, and mistakes may happen. It's just totally unreasonable to expect these super-small home-based businesses to be at the same level of customer service as some huge parts supplier like JC Whitney or something. No matter how organized and responsible you are, could you keep it up for years at a time, never making a single mistake, year after year, 5-6 days per week, every single day? Not likely. So cut them some slack... If something doesn't show up, or something is missing, give them a call and try to work it out.

Ed, It is pretty much up to you guys on how you prefer to order. While I love to talk to all of you on the phone, sometimes it is not feasible for you, as the customer, to call when you want to make an order - in the middle of your boring meeting at work - or at midnight when I am asleep. That is the main reason why David talked me into the fancy website all those years ago. I fought it hard too "Honey, everyone wants to call and talk to me". But alas, he won, and *better write it down guys* he was right for once.

However, joking aside, there is a place on the web orders to make comments. If something is a critical "must have by the weekend" kind of thing, it is always good to cover the bases and make a note for us. We are trying to get everything out the door as fast as possible but if you are on a deadline, it never hurts to make us aware of it!! Just ordering with express shipping isn't the right answer, make it plain and simple and write a note to us so there is no error in communication/judgment on our end.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words and support. You truly are our extended family and mean more to us than you will ever know.

Blessed Be,

Jeannie
