stukkie- a multiple 928 owner, from the speed channel show only another 194, ZR-1 is a lot more impressive

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DzsdSWTMug

maybe they should be wearing some safety equipment

The corvette hit 194 much easier, freeze frame at the time I said, 312 km/hr on the vette speedo, still accelerating!

I am glad some one is sure of his credentials, cause him saying he was a fuel crew chief does not go with many of the things he has said about fuel cars.

I came to this forum to use the huge wealth of information that so many members possess here. They have helped me directly or indirectly save time and thousands of dollars sorting out issues with my car. Your first impression as a new member whether right or wrong on this topic is not going to benefit you much when you need to sort out a problem with your own car. Again, just my opionion and fyi...

Not to take anything away from your outstanding effort, just for discussion, this guy hit 228mph in 1 mile in a 4 cyl and crossed the one mile marker driving with one hand and a blown engine, and on fire.... really hard to believe the aerodynamics are better on an Evo Mitsushi than on a 928.....he is one very lucky fellow....looks like his fire system may have saved him....

I am not certain why there is so much doubt about a 928 that is reported to run 208mph. As others have suggested it is a function of HP more than anything else and the OP appears to have enough to run the speed he claims. And others have done it too....

In my original link (above) very early in this thread, it shows a 4 door sedan (well set up with all the right safety stuff) run 228 mph in one mile with a 4 cylinder engine with turbo/NOS, I think they claim 875hp. While there are aero mods on the car as well as the safety stuff, it still has to have the aerodynamics of a brick...but at 228 mph he is driving it with one hand while deploying the parachute and turning on the fire extinguisher. I think I would rather be in a properly set up 928 at this speed than an EVO...but I don't think I will do either....

I also do find interesting in the link is the reference to the 911 dual turbo that did not break 200mph.....

and that guy from SPEED TV show, did break 200mph in a stockish FordGT. 500+ hp.
The fact that the devek folks were the first to do it, and didnt do it with much hp, tells the story. no downforce, no nothing. just a bunch of taped off stuff so that they could use less HP than the other guys trying to go this fast. again, i dont think he had more than 440-450rwhp at the time. I drove the car at the track , by the way, it was fun and fast! (not set up quite right for the track, but that would have come very easily with the known track settings)

Oddly, the ride height was 130mm in the front and a tick more in the rear...remember, we drove the 928 to and from every event and after one set of 200+ mph runs, continued to NC and then back...yes, on pump gas.

Tim and Cheryl are doing it again...with more HP - 515 ish rwhp with stock intake manifold. And more available.

The side skirts...well, if you go that route, best dod some serious calcs. Changing the center of pressure can really mess with you....that "run" was the scariest ever!

Cheers,
Marc

I think the fastest I've ever gone is 155 (redline, 4th gear, road america), and that was on the track. I can only imagine what 200+ feels like. 50mph faster, I bet that feels like you are going to take off, or things are going to start flying off the car!

Did we ever get any confirmation on this alleged "UK Record".

It would be a shame if the Rennlist Authorities allowed Brett to close yet another of his threads.

There is still much to discuss!
