Where did sailmed, aka firemed before changing his screen name, ever end-up?

He was noted for his bottom feeder saves down in Florida. Reference to Dr. Kim made me remember the guy, I think they were freinds.

Sailmed played the role of enforcer, collecting a title or parts or both in the epic rennlist 928 story of Whitefox,

(Whitefox was the random florida kid who started as a 928 diy prodigy --- who reportedly died as a bankrobber in a shootout).

There were some crazy things happening in this forum 10 years ago....



Sailmed might have liquidated all the 928 stuff, bought a boat and become a cruiser... ? Just curious. He added a lot of color and technical content back then on a daily basis. Years ago he asked me to pick him up at the Richmond airport and shuttle him to a nearby Virginia car which we worked on together for a couple hours ... then he jumped in it and drove back to Florida...

Dan Bise is still rolling in SoCal, but has moved on to different cars since his 928 days. IIRC he's had a few other Porsches and Audis since his 928. We e-mail once in a while about car events and happenings.

928 is still with me despite monthly assaults from my significant other to sell the car. Drove her this past summer with my son a couple of times but when she gets hot coming to a stop she cant keep idle so I have to left foot brake and manage the throttle... not ideal and takes the fun out of it.
Its been a very very long time and thankfully Imre stepped up and shorted my engine woes from the shoddy work nightmare that I endured in the hands of a local shop. So the car has been sitting for a long time really and not driven but this year I want to address the interior issues, change up the shocks, tires and fix the idle issue so I can finally enjoy the car. At least that is the plan!
I have not been much on Rennlist, life has happened coupled with financial issues due to the loss of my job in the past, just could not bear to read stories about cars getting driven and restored with me been unable to do much of anything really...
So I just hope this year things will go back to normal and I'll be able to get back in the thick of things...

So i'm whitefox's brother. In an eerie twist of fate i met kai in seattle after i wrecked my yamaha motorcycle, ended up selling it to him as i moved away. Turned out he was the dude my brother traded his 928 to years back. Heard my brother ****ed you guys over pretty bad. Wish i could say it was the drugs but honestly, he was like that before he ever got hooked on anything.

I had a fugup friend - we were 928 buddies. He could wrench a little, especially late at night on other's people cars.

NAPA ? Not for him - too pricey. He was a MAPA guy, "Midnight Auto Parts ***hole" we nicknamed him. You'd never leave your car alone with him even to go take a crap. You'd come back after 5 minutes and he would have swapped bad parts from his car on to yours. He just wouldn't grow up while he spent his non-grifting hours pretending to be the new messiah on religious forums.

He has neither drugs nor alcohol to blame but for most, those substances just amplify defects already woven in the cloth.
