Anyone see this?

I am visiting friends in Bath and am considering going to take a look, just for fun.

If he really needs it gone, the price is just a suggestion.

I picked up a 78' in much better condition 3 years ago for less than half that. Not saying it wasn't a great deal... But I AM saying that's not.

That car is going to need many $$$$$ to be a nice car again...even WITH a good interior. It was probably parked and sitting for a bad reason too... People don't tend to park and forget nice cars that run and work correctly. As Jim likes to say, "that car is $10k away from being a $5k car." In this case if it is all done right it will probably be worth more than $5k but still...the point is the same...

I've always found it amusing how we bash high prices here, especially craigslist prices. It's just a number. The sellers want to sell. If it's too high, it won't until he lowers it or someone waves green money under his nose and he can't resist. Of course 4300 is too high; the question is, how much will he really take? You really can't tell what it's worth until you look at it.

He says he took it out of the barn to take photos.

I probably won't make it there as he lives some distance away. It's at his mom's place and she can't get it out of storage herself. I get this idea that his dad passed away and this is part of the estate. Apparently he has a good stock of NOS parts for it as well that are included. I have asked for a list.

Since tonight was my likely only opportunity I'll have to pass this one to someone else to look at. I know there's some Mainers here...

Default Barn find Maine

Talked to Todd, the son yesterday, and they couldn't get it started earlier. Said some guy came over who knew something about 928s and switched fuel pump relays and got it started. Local mechanic changed oil. He said Guy offered him a horse and horse trailer for the car!!! only in Maine!!

His dad passed away and it was his car. Have to pull it out of the barn since barn is falling down and insurance company won't insure barn structure any more..yes probably mice etc and paint is bad.

car is in Turner maine about 45 minutes north of Portland. Priced way too high.

I was going to say that it 'amuses' me that in one thread we bash prices of 928's for sale, while in other threads we complain about how low 928's are valued, especially compared to other models/makes. Seems to me we want to own a exclusive and expensive car, for the price of a bag of roasted peanuts.

That jibes with what he told me except he didn't say it had actually been started.
