The Last Coolant Level Sensor
I needed to replace my coolant reservoir tank as well as the cap and sensor. A test showed that the sensor float no longer floats. Why would they use a material that loses its buoyancy?
So I call Roger. Roger tells me the sensor is NLA - No Longer Available.
WTF!?
A call to 928 International - they have a new one. Only one. Possibly the last one in North America.
Sometimes you're the bug, sometimes you're the windshield.
Take a good look - it may well be the last new one you will ever see.

Glad I got mine when I did.
I mean, I've got 4 in stock at $5.95 ea. Joke.

Chances are it is not the float, it's the electrics inside.

Porsche is one of the few car companies that still sells parts for these 15+ year old cars. I'm not talking about common engine repair parts.
Maybe you can't get them all right away, but at least there is a supply of those factory parts in Germany.

borland great point, and as we've found out, they have no problem putting something back in production that is NLA. The level of support is fantastic. I've listened to Rog talking on the phone about an NLA part, and the desire to have it produced again, and then two months later it shows back up on the market.

I sent my last one to a customer in Australia. He wanted two and they are nowhere to be found.
Porsche ran out of them a long time ago. It is NLA according to the manufacturer VDO.
Last production was 12/09.
Also this week Sachs confirmed that the twin clutch throw out bearing is also not to be made again and none are available anywhere. I think Mark at 928 International has some hidden away but not many.
