I've got two new ones in a box somewhere, along with two new tanks. Maybe someday I'll install them

Did he check with Porsche or VDO, the OEM? I'd guess it was Porsche.

Sunset Porsche, the discount parts dealer, typically quote 'one month away' for parts that come directly from Germany. For parts warehoused in the US, they typically quote '5 days away'. They rarely have any 928 parts in stock.

Her tan is fake. I'm sure. I spent an hour looking at it until I was sure.

Is there any way to make her full screen or maybe poster size so I can get a real good look at her without straining my eyes?

Borland,
My parts come from Porsche Atlanta, Ontario (CA) and East overnight and the same from Stuttgart, Germany. Overnight means 48 hours in real terms.
There are none available in Germany or any of the Porsche warehouses here in the USA.
I guess there could still be some OEM (VDO) units in a shop in Germany but definitely not in the Porsche system.
I will ask Schocki to get me one and we will see. Having them show on a website and physically having one are two different things.
Roger

When I buy parts from Sunset, they usually ship from Porsche warehouse in Ontario California. It's kind of funny because I live near Ontario. So Porsche ships the parts to Sunset in Oregon, where they get re-shipped to me back in Southern California.

It could be that your not seeing all inventory that's available. Like Porsche does in the US, Porsche dealers in Germany may be looking at other German dealer inventories there. Your access to the inventory system may not show those dealer parts in Germany. It could also be that the US Porsche view of Stuttgart inventory is not showing all or newly added parts that may show with database updates later.

I can remember years ago when parts suppliers were saying NLA for the old version of the TB tensioner boot. Those are probably now available again. My brother was later able to buy that part from Porsche for his 82' and I've seen them available recently on eBay.

I have access to all the dealers here in the States and there are none here for sure.
I have access the the inventory in Germany and none there.
I have customers in Stuttgart that buy from me. Part ships from Stuttgart to Dallas and back to Stuttgart.
Those are Porsche rules - parts have to come to the dealer.

Rog, other parts vendors: Any idea what the critical mass is on parts like this? How many committed orders/backorders does it take to get a part like this back into production? Knowing now that it's a critical piece, I should have changed mine when I did the reservoir a year ago. Now I need one for my car plus a JIC spare for the shelf.

Is there a similar switch on the 944 or 924 or BMW or Merc? They all use Behr reservoirs.
