Default BG Products , thumbs up or down?

Anyone want to weigh in on your experience on any BG Products? I'm looking at using them on a cleanout of the injectors and manifold on my 89'. Thanks!!

I would assume that you have to have an authorized shop to hook up an BG IV? Are they both off the shelf and professional treatment products? That's what it looks like. Thanks Sean!

I like their injector cleaner, but I like Amsoil's more.

I think all you need is an authorized credit card, and you don't need all the BG equipment either, other very similar cheaper options exist to use their stuff. Look for Dr Bob's thread a few months back.

Alex,
We used BG44k in motorcycles when I worked at a shop in college.

We would pull the carbs and get a baseline then run a double dose for one tank. More often than not, the carbs looked like they had been dipped and cleaned after the tank and running.

I'm a big fan of 44k. You can get it locally at Boardwalk (where I buy it)

Thanks everyone for responding. I plan on running this through the P car and my BMW, so I was curious as to it's effectivness vs. off the shelf products lilke Seafoam, STP etc... I will give it a shot.

Scott, I will stop by Boardwalk and pick up some.

Thanks Danglerb, I will check out the thread.

I have been a big fan of just about anything BG for a long time now. I have yet to find any of there products that don't do as much, or more, than what they are advertised to do.

Just my $.02.

We had a local GTS with a lot of pinging. Tons of carbon found on the back of the valves. Suspected inside the combustion chambers too (we did measure very high compression, 200-215). Tried the "water" treatment. Didn't help after aspirating a couple of quarts into a vacuum port. Had a BG intake and fuel system treatment done at a local shop and that eliminated the problem (for now). Later got a chance to look at the backs of the valves again and they were clean. Compression test results were more reasonable too.

The amazing ingredient is just Techron AFAIK, with a pricey new delivery and marketing scheme.

If anything, Techron copied the BG products for its gas. My father used BG products 30 years ago in his shop.

I am sold on the penetrating oil, just amazing stuff, I sent a bottle to Greg Brown and I am awaiting his thought on it.
If he will ever take it out of the box and try it.
