Ex brother in law is a mechanic, told me BG pushes to local mechanics to sell to customers having 'full' tune ups at an inflated price, as a 'professional' strength injection system cleaner that 'the customer' isn't trained enough to use 'properly'. Sounded like a lot of BS to me. Besides, after he started working for a dealership that didn't carry it, he started using Techron.

I have never had one push me to do anything, heck just getting them to tell me what other shops charge for doing a 3 part induction cleaning was hard enough.

I guess I do not get your point of him saying he does not use the BG products anymore because he works at a stealership has to do with anything, other than they are using Techron.

IMHO the only thing that comes close to it is a Motorvac, and we have to use BG after it sometimes on really bad ones.

About the lay people not being trained to use the BG products correctly, I agree 100%, even most of the mechanics do not use it correctly and with the proper tools.

Most of all I do not understand why any one would bad mouth a product that they have not used, when folks that do this for a living offer help to other folks at no charge, what exactly am I getting out of this by trying to get others to use it?

Greg makes sense.
I personally will try the can in the tank first then see about getting the setup for the DFW group and having a little 3 part cleaning party soon.
Greg, do you think BG would give the DFW crew (if they were interested in it) a class in the proper use of the equipment and products if a setup were purchased? Is that possible if one is not a shop?

Depends on the rep, but if they think they are going to sell much product I would say yes they would.
They work on commission.

When I worked for BWM, they used BG exclusively on their cars. I have used the products and they seem very high quality, but I am not a mechanic...so take my comment with grain of salt
