Default 88 SE "Sport" logo

I am trying to find a "Sport" logo for a UK based SE.
I have the VIN and searched everywhere in PET with the VIN filter but no logo.
Anyone know the part number or recognise the logo from another P car?
Any help appreciated.

The Sport Edition is the "928 SE" - only ever available in the UK, they were the RHD clubsport cars. They have the clubsport engine, G28/55 gearbox, no sunroof, lightweight AC compressor, Clubsport wheels etc. - 42 of them were made, all in 1988.

Roger - I'll have a look through the receipts for my '87 - a previous owner bought the Clubsport transfers and applied them to the car, so I may have a receipt somewhere with the part number on it.

I have never seen this on a 928 on any picture before - what makes you think this is a factory decal?

It looks rather amateurish. In fact, typography, uneven outlines, crowded placement - it all points to an aftermarket job or a home made solution.

I can't imagine Porsche to do something like this. But then again, they made a one-off GTE prototype with aftermarket parts, some of which weren't even available at the time...

Roger - no joy on the Sport decal. The 928 Clubsport one for the front is 928 559 339 00. My suspicion is that part number may include both transfers?

Might be worth asking Nick Mckenna - I vaguely recall he had a hand in sourcing the ones on my '87 when he was still in the UK. Failing that, call Porsche GB in Reading and get their parts desk on the case

HOLY MOLY! That is terrible then - unless that logo in the original picture has been butchered...

Oh man, my faith in Porsche has been shattered... Hope the rest of my day goes better.

Hilton,
Good point on the CS logo. Did the CS have any logo on the rear bumper?

Nicole,
Wow did not think it looked that bad.
Now the CS logo on the fender - that to me is tacky.

It appears someone used "live trace" in Adobe Illustrator for the decal shown in Roger's photo. The others appear to be genuine, with consistent line weight. If anyone can provide a far away & zoomed-in (to prevent warpage from the close perspective), HIGH resolution (as high as possible--RAW format, 10+ MP is best) photo of the decal, head-on, I can create a vector file and cut it out from vinyl. I have the capacity to create any custom decal; I will be offering this service soon but just need to get more organized and have a little more time on my hands.

Roger: I owe you one on me once I can get a good photo to trace.

Cool, Jon. I can't honestly say whether or not I can accept that--I haven't tried it with my new email server. I guess we will try it and go from there. If that doesn't work, maybe someone could host it and I could download it.
