Default 928/late 944 interior question.

Will a 928 front seat fit into a 944 turbo? I saw the custom job that Champagne or Rob Budd did on an old set of 928 front seats and would like to perhaps have him build a set for me to go in the 951.
TIA

Yo, E!

Yes, I'm pretty sure they are drop-ins. Not exactly the same, but close enough.

As mentioned, Paul would probably know for sure.

I'll definitely ask him. He turned a pair of standard 928 seats into sport seats and they were unbelievable. I have too have those, even if they aren'
t original and probably 20 pounds heavier. Thanks for the info gents.

I believe that Paul will also do your 951 seats if you want to keep them.

i put 968 sport seats in my 944 Turbo. They were a bit tight, but the rails slid right in.

Won't he do two 951 seats for the price of one 928 seat?

Get it?!? Get it?!?

Yes they will.
928, 944, 951, 968 and to some extent, most of the 911 family of the same era, all share the same Recaro front seat frames. There were changes in cover design and subtle changes in padding, but the structure is the same, so they can all be made to fit.
I often start with manual 944 comfort seats and turn them into 928 sport seats.

I may. I don't know. The design of the 928 seat is what I like. From a function standpoint, I love the common seat from that era, from either car. I'm just kicking this around in my head, based on the pics that were posted some time ago.

no sweat. The Cashmere diamond was the seat I was actually thinking about. Really great work on that!

I am very proud of those myself. When done properly, quilted diamonds are extremely comfortable and by their design, sort of a passive seat ventilation.

It's timeless design that is still the favorite of most high end car makers, the latest being Bugatti.

I am currently working on matching back seats:
