Thanks. Yep, it was its 4th time on the track, its 3rd race weekend and its back even stronger than before. (better alignment in the rear is the only real change, PLUS, a prestine chassis thanks to Mark Anderson!)

No oiling modifications at all. no accusump, scrapers, spacers, screens, windage, breathers, all stock stock stock, and has been for the last 15 years of racing 928s!

I know I raced in 105F temps before with the holbert motor, but at that time, i dont think I was ever looking at the oil pressure gauge. these days with all the "modified" failures, Im watching more closely. however, I did notices never a drop to below 4.5bar in prior races this and last season. Amsoil is great oil and doesnt seem to break down as much as the others. I have no breather issues as well, only when I over fill by .5 quart or so.

I used .5 quart over the weekend.

the $10 weekend, plus gas. For the 3rd race weekend, even found 2 more A series Hoosiers in the trash.
At this pace, Ill show a profit for my racing season this year.

MK Sweet video! I like the final move at the end where you made your move on the inside. Most have felt GOOD! That red car in front of you was cool, Kevin's car? A Panos? Who make them? They look like fun!

Nice job, keep your race video's coming!

Thanks! That was a fun race. At first I was bummed that i got the short end of the stick with the stack up of cars in our row, because I really wanted to run with the viper, but the battle I had was fun and Kevin actually had a faster lap in the race too. and, to end up where I thought I would, was good too. those little tubed frame cars are really fast! (mazda and nissan).

Yep that move on Kevin was a gift. he probably got a little worried late braking with the nascar, and I saw a door open. after that, i was able to get some distance, but not for a few laps. I think everyone was feeling the heat. Kevins car was a Panos factory race car for the Panos series. ford 351 powered tubed frame turn key racer that is pretty popular.

Great result!!! Looks like you had FUN too.....

We should be able to field more 928's next year for sure....well at least in NASA, since the Estate can't run in SCCA :>( The widow will be back next year too....

Hey, I talked to the SCCA tech folks about you running an automatic. they said, " no problem, just cut off one of your feet and you can run".

I asked, "what about a toe?", they said that wouldnt qualify.

By the way, I did a corner balance check while I was there. Keep in mind, I set this car up exactly like the holbert car and right out of the box, no aero, was only 1 second off my best time with old tires and more weight. that corner balance was only about 50lbs off in one corner. using the standard cornerbalance method, I just lowered that shock ride height about 3 turns to relieve about 50 to 75lbs of weight, also reducing the weight of the opposite corner. I went to laguna and ran my best time exactly of 1:37.6. Then, I went to thunderhill and ran my best time there, even in the heat, of 1;59.6 . I went to the corner scales and ended up almost perfect, or about as perfect as any 928 will ever be.
55/45 weight distribution and about 25lbs corner balanced. that was with 4 gals of gas, so when I start a race, it will be even better, and at the end of the race it will still be pretty good.

I have about 20lbs I can still take out, but I havnt been motivated yet to get that crazy with the chopping up of this car yet. plus the cage is a little heavier than last, and this weight was with toyos, which are 4lbs heavier than hoosiers.

Your weights are almost scary....here is the 928 estate with Evil Clint (160lbs) inside at about 6 gallons of gas

764 815
706 711

2998 with 52.6% on the front.... thats with the extra 50lbs of automatic out back & most of the bumper assemblies + wipers + blower fan.... I can't remember if this was the with the lighter R1's or the heavier street tires?

Brian, here is what you do. take your passenger front and lower that ride height setting by 2-3 turns. It will be all good. I suspect, after that, you might be :
784 790
695 720 which might be about as good as you could expect and need right now. however, its effects will be all good.
