Why is red considered undesirable by so many?
Have read so many derogatory remarks regarding red cars and have never been able figure out why?
The 928, in my opinion, is such a joy to behold from so many different angles and in so many different colors, red included.
I don't get it. And I love my red car.
Just looking for some enlightenment.

Anecdotally, people believe that red sports cars will catch a cop's attention over less-extroverted colors.
I do not believe it, because I've never noticed a predominance of red cars pulled over on the side of the road getting tickets. If anything, I think I see more P-O-S hoopties pulled over than nice cars.

Seriously, I don't know why. I know I wouldn't buy a red car because, well, it's so red. I simply like other colors better. Coincidently I saw a red 928 driving in Dusseldorf yesterday, stopped at a traffic light right beside it. I was red on red with white seats. Very nice. Then I remembered to take a picture but too late.

Because it's just so common for sports cars in general and Porsches, too.
928s have such a cool palette of colors available from the factory. It's unusual but then again it was the highest model in the line-up. Seems like 50% of 944s are red and the rest are black or white.

I think some people just don't understand...
Red looks great on a 928, and it's also generally considered to be the fastest color too
I guess it's all really a matter of personal taste, but I think some car designs look better in certain colors. But I, like most I'm sure, have personal bias toward color selections... for example, I'm not typically a brown or green kind of guy, but I think 928's look best in Red and Black, with Silver, dark Blue and Maroon looking pretty nice too... but that's just me...

I love my guards red 928! Red is one of my favorite colors on a 928, it just looks great on the car. As to the attention part, driving a Porsche attracts allot of attention regardless of the color. Sure red stands out more than black or grey, but I do not see that as a reason to dislike red.

Gary, this is the vocal minority at work here. The 928 looks awesome in red but, I know what your saying.... People seem to comment on red 928s. Personally, I think the 928 looks really good in red. I'd definitely have another red one!

nothing negative, but there are soooo many of them. It was the 80's color to get I guess. I wish more people ordered some more of the other colors that are so hard to find now.
Now its Silver that hogs the road up with 996's lol.

Part of it might be people trying to decouple themselves from the cliche' "mid life crisis / red sports car" moniker. I know I've heard it a dozen times.

I have had 3 red Porsches and a red Miata. I have gotten tickets in most all of them...not so in the 2 white Porsches I have owned. I pretty much drive them all about the same, and that would be a bit faster than surrounding traffic. "Arrest Me Red" seems to attract more police protection than other colors, at least for me....I like red but I do think it more noticable than some other colors....not a good stealth color!

I think a Guards Red GTS is a show stopper when the paint is properly polished. It seriously turns heads like nothing I've ever seen.
I like the red but I prefer the Blue's, just my own personal taste really.
If we all liked the same things this world would be pretty damn boring.
