The OP posted an Ebay ad for a jet powered car. That very same jet powered car was featured on Jalopnik. I linked to that article. This car has two exhaust pipes.
MattCarp posted a video of a single stack 928 jet car. Is this what you are refering to? I think I'm beginning to understand. You were talking to MattCarp in your post?
Once again, for the record. I would give up all of my 928s (except the turbo ) for this jet car. I think it's b@d@$$

I thought perhaps the Big Mike vehicle was the same - I mean, how many jet powered 928s could there be? I thought perhaps the exhaust was reworked to a dual exhaust prior to the eBay listing.

It's a really cool video.
In the video you'll see it's rated for 550 horsepower... Of course, as someone who doesn't have the experience of removing an engine I feel odd to say this, but for the trouble, I'd want more than 600 hp out of something like this!

Okay I'm here to clear a few things up. I've been away from the forum due to an accident and I had to have surgery on both of my legs (tore/ruptured my bilateral quadracept tendons and dislocated my pattela/knee on both legs during a powerlifting meet doing deadlifts) So I'll be out of comission for about 6-8 months..
The car on e-bay is not mine. This car is being sold by my friend Richard. If you watched my "jetcar" video you would see that Richard was the fabricator of the custom gear case to convert the counter clockwise rotation of the turbine to clockwise rotation so that it would mate with the Porsche torque tube and transmission. The gear case that he fabricated also steps down the turbine output speed of 15,000rpm @idle to a friendly 2,500rpm so that the vehicle could be shifted out of park and not blow-up the transmission. The gear case was the biggest stumbling block to make the jet-turbine engine power the rear wheels. Now that Richard has mastered building the case it's now just up to the type of turbine engine you can afford.The rest of the build and install I did myself.
There are several types of turbine engines. To give an example, a used Allison 250 engine runs around $66,000USD to $90,000USD and has an output of 350HP. This is the same engine that is in Jay Leno's Y2K jet bike.Boeing made several versions of the T-50 with different horsepower ratings and exhaust design. The one with the dual stack on eBay is about 365 HP @700lbs tq. There is no way to convert this to a single exhaust that is why it has 2 stacks. Boeing turbines are very rare and are hard to find. Sometimes you could be lucky on price but most of the time you will pay a small fortune.
To address the question on why the exhaust is coming out of the hood. These are shaft driven turbines. The exhaust is exactly what it is...an exhaust. These are just left overs from what the power turbine bleeds off. The exhaust will never hit the windshield since it exits the stack/s at over 400mph straight up. The heat from these exhaust/s can reach up to 2,500 degrees F. and can burn anything above it below 30 feet (that is why the car cannot be started or driven in a garage or a shop.
I'm glad that most of you liked my new color scheme. I use my car at Air Force or NAVY displays and I was suppose to drive it in a 4th of July parade in the city of Glendora CA but since I am still bed ridden from the accident I had to cancel.
The car on eBay is actually under priced. But it would take someone who really wants a show stopping head turner to buy one of these. I was at a car show in Newport Beach CA a couple of months back. My car was in a covered trailer while I was waiting for the USAF to finish setting up there tent/booth. Everyone was flocking around the Bugatti's and other exotics. Once I was told where to park my car I got it out of the trailer and fired it up...every ones head turned towards my direction. As I drove by everyone was taking pictures with there cameras and cell phones and they followed me till I parked the car and shut her down. It felt like everyone at the show was at the USAF tent for hours. It was a great feeling.
Oh and before I forget..My "Jet Car" gets 17miles per gallon on Jet-A fuel which cost less that $5.00 per gallon. At idle its more like 1/2 gallon per 5 minutes since turbine engines are more efficient when running at 80 to 90% of it power output.

I wondered when you moved out of Socal, so thanks for clearing up the confusion and providing more details. Hope you can somehow manage to get your car to Sharktoberfest in Anaheim in October. It would be a big hit at this major 928 event.

According to my Doctor I should be good to go between Oct or Nov. If I'm able to get better a month before the show, I can finish up the interior (wiring, cage, race seats, race steering wheel, etc, etc..) and get the build transmssion in, then I'll be there...if not I will be there the following year.
