New to the forum. I have a 928 jet car...
Hello,
I'm new to the forum. I have been looking at some of the info being posted and have found them to be very helpful. I own a 1982 Porsche 928 that I have swapped a Boeing T50 turbine engine in it. The transmission couldn't handle the engine and started slipping (I work for Mecrcedes-Benz and am very familiar with the weaknesses of the 722.1/A22/01 transmission). This forum was a great deal of help when it came to the little short cuts to remove the transmission/transaxle. I hope I don't get "flamed" on too much since I know I do not have a "true" 928 since I no longer have the original V8 engine.
For those who were wondering if this is the car from e-bay a while back..it's not. The car on ebay a while back was the first "mule project" and is now owned by a very satisfied car collector. The one you see on the videos and on the avatar on the left I will be keeping. This one has all the improvements and "lessons learned" from the first swap. I will be gutting out the interior and I will be installing a roll cage, race light weight seats and a custom gauge panel to house the aircraft gauges. I will post more soon.
Here are some videos of my "Jet Car"

Three Wheelin'
Wild stuff--on the plus side, no timing belt to replace. Is there any way to muffle down the SPL (down to a level that will not cause permanent hearing loss) without killing the engine power?

Very cool! I just showed this to my wife so she won't complain about the money I spend one my car getting her to run the power I believe she should have.
I said can you imagine the money he spent on that conversion and the time, he must have a really nice wife!
Thanks for your help!

Looks like it belongs in there.
Very cool install.
"Turbine to Torque Tube adapter" - Those are five words that I never thought I'd hear said in a single sentence.

Yes, the conversion was a nightmare, the turbine engine spins counter clockwise and a gear box had to be fabricated to turn the final gear reduction clock-wise to make it work with the cars torque tube/transmission...

Mike,
Very cool, looks great. Don't let Leno see it! How did you get it registered in CA!
Looks like your going to use it as a 1/4 mile car?
Did you upgrade parts in the trans? If so I would like to find out what you did and where to get the parts.
Cheers

Wow -cool project, but I'd hate to have you on my block with that set up
How do the hood and fenders hold up with that sort of heat out put? Any warpage on the aluminum parts?

My neighbors are already use to me. I also collect large ship honrns and airraid sirens. I always give them a call before I make any noise. Here's a link to my Youtube site to view my SCCA car and my horns/sirens:
