"Great Save thread"
^^^ Wow. Jasons blue car & the maroon Calgary car ^^^
My refreshes are light-duty in comparison to some here. But the cars are saved, now family daily drivers. Economical, too.
Here's two of Stan's saves (he could have parted them for much more $$, instead opted to let me try to make them drivers).
Everybody wins. Including 928 parts suppliers!
Red car headed inside for an S4 transmission transplant from iccy928 and carpets; Platinum car just ariving from Massachusetts in early 2009 (after $15 of spraydown at the local carwash), still occupied by fieldmice. Followed by a few more recent shots of both.
Platinum car has chrome wheels from Jadz 928's Perl save, plus brakes from Jason's car!

Aussie Save:
Poor little beastie spent three years in a panel shop holding yard with the windows down
Spur of the moment purchase last June as delivered to my driveway - you can see the tide mark on the carpet

A year later and this is a during not an after

A special thanks to Roger, the guys at 928 International and my local Porsche Dealership

Thanks guy's; its a passion and love to see and feel the transformation.
I have been doing this to a lot of different cars but the 928 is my favorite to work on. Kind of like a jig saw puzzle you just need to see the picture on the box find out where all the pieces go then figure out how they all fit in place.

Here is mine. A non runner that I bought for 2500. Thought my wife was going to kill me. Bought her last November. Since then she has been gone through. New fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel accumulator, TB/WP, seals, gaskets, hoses, plugs & wires, exhaust fixed and updated, stereo amp speakers,85 euro cams,140 amp delco alt, electric fan,air pump delete, rear windshield wiper delete and a paint job by me. A work in progress but in 9 months she's doing much better.

I got this early 86 From Los Angeles, it was leaking oil out of the fill spout base filling up the V. , had to install a new new engine harness in CA to get it running, and a bunch more time and effort, and went through it lots and lots of new parts but it turned out pretty nice runs strong and its a 5 speed no sunroof or side strips

the PO routed the washer this way,
I just fine tuned it.
it should be under the coolant bottle but it is quite a PITA to get to so i left it here.
BTW the washer was lower so it was pushing the liner down and the liner was hitting the tire, dang POs
Note the stainless 3 way fitting
